In their own words
Calxa
Calxa is a browser-based budgeting, forecasting and reporting tool for businesses, not-for-profits and accountants. It automates cash flow forecasting, KPI reporting and group consolidations. Users can import budgets from accounting systems or spreadsheets, build formula-based budgets and manage multiple versions. More than 150 report templates can be customised and grouped into scheduled bundles. Forecasting includes cash flow and three-way forecasts using balance sheet and profit and loss budgets. Calxa connects directly to Xero, QuickBooks Online and MYOB, and supports ERP integrations including MYOB Acumatica, NetSuite, Sage Intacct and Microsoft Business Central. It does not work with locally stored accounting files or desktop accounting versions; Calxa Unplugged supports manual imports for bespoke systems. The 30-day free trial requires no credit card. Premier1 costs $18 a month for one organisation and unlimited users; other listed monthly plans include Premier5 at 225.00 USD and Enterprise at $1,200 a month. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and can be cancelled before the next month's charge.
Float
Float turns data from connected accounting software into rolling cash flow forecasts for finance teams. It offers weekly and 13-week views, plus monthly forecasts that extend up to three years on Growth and Scale. Users can adjust income and costs, model scenarios and estimate new-hire costs before committing. Float shows invoices and bills with expected payment dates based on when clients actually pay. Its current accounting integrations are Xero and QuickBooks Online; a direct Sage Intacct connection is described as coming soon. Float does not connect directly to banks: bank transaction data comes through the connected accounting platform. Data syncs every 24 hours, with manual sync also available. Teams can comment on budget lines, invoices, bills and payments, tag colleagues and receive mention notifications. Admin, Editor and Viewer roles govern access. Float lists encryption in transit and at rest, multi-factor authentication, role-based access and independent auditing to the UK government-backed Cyber Essentials standard. The web service has no free plan; pricing starts at $105/mo (annual), with a 14-day trial. Essentials forecasts up to 12 months; Growth and Scale cover 36 months.
