Overview

The product pairs recorded interviews with transcripts, recruiter-defined scoring, and job-specific candidate pipelines. Candidates can record in a desktop or mobile browser without an app or account, reducing setup before an interview. Reviewers can share candidate or shortlist links with hiring managers, who can inspect videos and associated materials without signing in.

That combination is useful when several people need to assess responses asynchronously. It is less suited to teams whose evaluation depends on non-English AI summaries or scoring: transcription supports more than 30 languages, but scoring and summaries are generated in English. Key features

Recorded interviews and retakes

Candidates respond when it suits them, while recruiters review recordings later. Recruiters can allow unlimited retakes or set a maximum per question, a practical way to tailor the process but one that makes clear retake rules important for consistent evaluation. Interview recording, playback, and scheduling are among the product’s capabilities.

AI-assisted review

Automatic transcription, answer summaries, and scoring against recruiter-defined criteria can give reviewers a consistent starting point across responses. The language split matters: multilingual transcription can help teams handle interviews in multiple languages, but English-only summaries and scoring limit the usefulness of that layer for other-language hiring.

Pipelines and review links

Job-specific visual pipelines have configurable stages and drag-and-drop candidate movement, helping teams organize interview progress by role. Shareable links expose videos, transcripts, summaries, and ratings without requiring a hiring manager account. Links expire after a configurable period, seven days by default, and can be revoked at any time—useful access controls when reviews need to be shared outside the recruiting team.

Integrations

Greenhouse, Lever, Bullhorn, and JobAdder integrations provide two-way sync for interview results and candidate stages, but require Pro or above. A REST API and webhook system support custom integrations; Enterprise includes custom integrations. Teams that need ATS sync should account for the paid-plan threshold.

Pricing

CandidReel has a free plan and paid plans, with paid pricing starting at $29/mo. The Free plan has no price stated and allows 5 interviews per month, 3 pre-screen questions, video recording and playback, candidate management, and shareable review links. It is a bounded way to handle a small interview volume, but the monthly interview and question caps make it a poor fit for sustained high-volume hiring.

Pro costs 79.00 USD per month and includes 50 interviews per month, unlimited pre-screen questions, AI scoring and summaries, scorecards and evaluations, a drag-and-drop interview builder, custom branding, and priority support. It suits teams needing the fuller review workflow and ATS integrations; its 50-interview monthly quota is the key constraint to weigh.

Enterprise has custom pricing, custom interview limits, a dedicated account manager, SSO and SAML, custom integrations, and an SLA guarantee. It is aimed at organizations needing tailored volume or enterprise access controls. A free trial is offered, but no trial length or terms are stated.

Platforms

CandidReel runs on Android, iOS, and the web. Candidates can record in a browser on desktop or mobile without installing an app, which avoids making an app download or account a prerequisite for participation.

Who it's for

Agency recruiters, in-house recruiting teams, and high-volume hiring teams are the intended users. CandidReel is most compelling when those teams want asynchronous video responses, structured review, and hiring-manager access without accounts. Organizations requiring non-English AI evaluation, or interview volumes beyond Pro’s monthly allowance without a custom Enterprise arrangement, should compare alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pros: Browser recording without an app or candidate account reduces friction for applicants.
Pros: Recruiter-defined scoring, transcripts, summaries, and scorecards support a more structured review than video alone.
Pros: Revocable, expiring review links let hiring managers assess interviews without accounts.
Cons: AI summaries and scoring are English-only, despite transcription support for over 30 languages.
Cons: ATS integrations require Pro or above, so teams on Free cannot use the named two-way sync integrations.
Cons: Free is capped at 5 interviews per month, while Pro is capped at 50.

Alternatives

Choose Hyring if a free plan with 50 monthly credits and one seat is more important than CandidReel’s specified interview workflow; its free plan is English-only and limited to one active job post and one AI voice.

Truffle is a paid alternative with a seven-day free trial that unlocks every feature and includes 30 credits, making it worth considering for a short trial of the full product before committing.

Choose Willo if its role-based pricing suits your hiring pattern: Willo Lite costs 49.00 GBP per month, billed per live role, with no contract, up to 5 live roles, and 150 assessed candidates per role.

Yupcha offers a free plan, while paid plans unlock bulk invites, custom branding, API access, and priority support.

Consider Interviewer.AI if its Essential Edition’s 50 interview credits per month, three job posts, 20-minute interviews, and 15 user licenses better fit your requirements; it costs 199.00 USD per month.

Jobma is another video interview option, with a Starter plan that includes one user, five active positions, unlimited one-way interviews, and one ATS integration.

RecRam may suit teams wanting a broader response mix: its Starter plan costs 29.00 USD per month and includes one team member, 100 video/audio responses per month, 250 form responses, and 50 Room messages.

EasyHire.me is an alternative with a free plan and paid options priced per job monthly.

Verdict

CandidReel is a strong fit for recruiting teams that want candidates to record without setup and need structured, shareable review across a pipeline. Its main reason to choose it is the combination of configurable interviews, AI-assisted assessment, and controlled review links. Look elsewhere if English-only AI summaries and scoring are a dealbreaker, or if the Free and Pro interview quotas do not match your volume.
