In their own words
Canva
Canva is a design platform for creating presentations, social content, videos, print materials, photo edits, websites, and PDFs. It combines templates, illustration tools, brand kits, and real-time collaboration, with export options including PDF, JPG, PNG, SVG, and PPT. Its AI tools include Magic Layers, Magic Eraser, Background Remover, Magic Write, and image generation. The Free plan includes 1.6M+ templates and 4.7M+ photos, videos, graphics, and audio, alongside one Brand Kit with three colours, 5GB storage, and up to 20 Standard or Premium AI uses. AI use is pooled across listed tools and resets monthly; higher-tier tools use more allowance. Canva offers free desktop downloads for Windows and Mac, and a mobile app. The Free plan costs nothing. Business adds team administration, approvals, permissions, and brand controls. Eligible nonprofits can receive a free premium subscription for one team of up to 50 users. Canva was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Sydney, Australia.
PicCollage
PicCollage is a collage and design app for making photo grids, greeting cards, invitations, scrapbooks and video collages. Its grid tools let users adjust layouts, spacing and borders, while AI-powered tools can remove backgrounds and expand images. Templates, stickers, backgrounds and fonts provide starting points for designs, and new designs are added weekly. Browser tools include background removal and blur, image resizing, AI image extension and collage making. Finished work can be downloaded in high resolution, shared digitally or printed; export formats include PNG, GIF and PDF. The free plan includes core collage-making and online tools, while premium templates, stickers and advanced features require a subscription. Free is free, and the pricing note also lists a 7-day trial. VIP supports up to five videos per collage on iOS, with clips up to one minute, and backs up up to 1,000 collages; video collages are excluded from backup. PicCollage says users can delete images or accounts and that facial data is not used for identity recognition, advertising or biometric profiling. Its Social feature ended in March 2025.
