Canvas Intelligent Insights vs D2L Performance+

Canvas Intelligent Insights is a web analytics product for institutions evaluating courses, educational technology, and student progress. Ask Your Data lets account administrators submit natural-language questions through an AI-powered query tool. Course Readiness supports custom criteria for assessing course readiness and effectiveness, while Students in Need of Attention monitors institution-defined indicators for learners who may need support. Users can visualize data, customize dashboards, share curated insights, and return SQL queries. Listed capabilities include Accessibility Insights, Accessibility Analytics, predictive analytics, and learner risk scoring. Intelligent Insights integrates with Canvas through the Canvas Analytics Hub. It reports on LTI tool usage, although Instructure later stated that LTI reporting would become part of core Canvas. Instructure describes the product as a legacy add-on: advanced analytics are now available in Canvas Plus and Canvas Next, and AI-powered Insights are available in Canvas Next. Pricing is on request. Instructure lists ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, and PCI DSS 4.0.1 coverage for Canvas with Intelligent Insights.
