Overview

Greenio tracks Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and shows them by month, source and hotspot. That breadth can help a company identify where its footprint sits, rather than limiting the account to a single emissions category. Teams can enter electricity, gas, fuel and refrigerant data or use estimates, giving non-specialists options when records are incomplete.

For Indian companies, the use of BEE-standard methods and CEA/BEE emission factors is a practical fit. BRSR and ESG reporting, board-ready PDF exports, and CCTS Verify and Snapshot downloads connect the accounting work to reporting needs. The Free plan’s four-PDF annual allowance, however, is restrictive for companies producing regular reports.

Key features

Tracking, reporting and controls

Monthly, source and hotspot views make the emissions account more useful for locating concentrations than a total alone. Bulk data import, bill scanning and Tally integration can support collection from existing business records; supplier engagement and an audit trail add capacity for broader reporting workflows. Enterprise API access is included among the platform features.

Greenio says it protects data with TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest, row-level security and role-based access controls, and stores it on EU-based Supabase servers. It says it does not sell user data or train AI models on it without explicit consent, and uses only essential session cookies. Account and emissions data remain while an account is active and for seven years after closure; users have 30 days after closure to export it. That retention period is worth considering when planning offboarding.

Pricing

The freemium structure lets a company start tracking without a subscription, but the upgrade choice depends on reporting cadence, collaboration and regulatory scope.

Free — 0.00 INR per free. Unlimited data entry, Scope 1–3 tracking, AI recommendations and an activity log come with four PDF reports per year. It suits early-stage tracking, but not frequent formal reporting.
Growth — 2999.00 INR per month. Twelve PDF, CSV or Excel reports per year, BRSR and ESG reporting, monthly logging reminders and email support suit a small team with recurring reporting needs. The report allowance remains finite. A 30-day free trial is included.
Pro — 5999.00 INR per month. Unlimited exports, up to 10 team members and 10 suppliers, plus Snapshot and refrigerant automation, make this the more suitable tier for companies coordinating contributors and supplier data. It still caps both team and supplier counts at 10. A 30-day free trial is included.
Enterprise — 49999.00 INR per month. CCTS and BEE PAT modules, unlimited team members and suppliers, multi-entity support, audit packages, API access, and dedicated onboarding and support target larger or more complex reporting operations. Its 14-day free trial is shorter than the lower paid tiers.

Platforms

Greenio runs on web and offers an API. The API access is an Enterprise plan feature, so teams needing that integration should account for the top-tier price.

Who it's for

Greenio is designed for Indian companies with 1–250 employees and non-specialist users such as operations and finance teams. It is a particularly good fit when local emissions factors and BRSR, ESG or CCTS-related reporting matter. Companies needing only occasional tracking can begin on Free; businesses with more frequent exports, larger teams or multi-entity requirements should compare the paid limits against their workflow.

Pros and cons

Pros: Scope 1–3 tracking, estimates and several data-entry categories support a broad account without requiring specialist users.
Pros: India-focused factors and BRSR, ESG and CCTS reporting options align the product with local reporting work.
Pros: Free includes unlimited data entry, while Pro removes export quotas and expands collaboration to 10 team members and suppliers.
Cons: Free allows only four PDF reports a year, and Growth allows 12 reports across formats; regular reporting may require moving up a tier.
Cons: Pro is capped at 10 team members and suppliers, so larger operations need Enterprise.
Cons: Data remains for seven years after account closure, with a 30-day export window; this requires a timely offboarding plan.

Alternatives

Compare carbon accounting software if you want to weigh Greenio against the wider category.

CarbonTool is worth considering for a free 30-day full-access start with Scope 1+2 core measurement; its free Starter is limited to that core scope.
Carbonfact may suit suppliers prioritizing environmental-data exchange, free LCA verification and supplier-controlled data visibility.
CO2 AI is an alternative for organizations that want an enterprise platform with a 30-day trial.
EcoReko offers a free forever tier for one user and one site, with Scope 1–3 tracking and a static dashboard; consider it for that narrower single-user starting point.
GreenStitch is an alternative for supplier data collection and scorecards or ESG reporting.
NetNada is an alternative for teams considering a self-hosted option.
Persefoni offers a free self-service plan for a single user with unlimited assets and historical reporting years.
BigMile is another carbon-accounting option.

Verdict

Choose Greenio if an Indian company needs approachable Scope 1–3 accounting paired with local factors and BRSR, ESG or CCTS reporting. The free tier makes initial tracking accessible, while Growth and Pro add reporting formats and collaboration; look elsewhere if your needs exceed Pro’s 10-person and 10-supplier caps but Enterprise’s 49999.00 INR per month is not justified.
