Case Calendar
Case Calendar is an open-source Python command-line tool that turns federal court docket information from CourtListener into calendar feeds for hearings and filing deadlines. It creates an ICS feed per case for subscription in calendar apps that support iCalendar, and can send events one way to Google Calendar or Microsoft 365 or Outlook after a one-time OAuth setup. Its deadline tracking sends items classified as major to subscriber calendars while keeping procedural filings in an audit trail. Optional AI summaries use primary documents and dispositions, link action phrases to court documents and refresh when certain documents or event statuses change. Events retain the court’s timezone, including across daylight-saving changes. A real-time webhook can accept CourtListener updates and bypass the daily polling quota. The generated static index can be hosted behind an HTTP server. Hosted AI options include Anthropic, Google Gemini and OpenAI; local Ollama models avoid per-token API costs and keep docket text and PDFs on the host, according to the documentation. Use may incur LLM API costs and CourtListener quota limits. The project warns that docket data can lag and date extraction can miss or misread dates; it is not a replacement for attorney calendaring software.
Deadlines.com
Deadlines.com provides automated, rules-based legal calendaring for smaller firms, powered by Aderant CompuLaw. It uses CompuLaw court rules and date calculations to generate legal deadlines. Users can review monthly, weekly, and daily calendars, then create, email, or print reports filtered by case, event, or date range. Outlook Sync and iCalendar export support calendar workflows. Email reminders are sent 10 business days before each deadline at 8:00 A.M.; users can adjust them in Email Preferences. A change-notification service emails users when a court rule update may affect deadlines and links to regenerate them under updated rules. The service supports web, Windows, macOS, and iPhone, with mobile calendar access and Safari compatibility on Mac and MacBook. Deadlines.com describes nationwide coverage, although a requested jurisdiction or practice area may not be available. Monthly plans are priced per case: $20 a month for 30 or more cases, 25.00 USD for 6–29 cases, 30.00 USD for 2–5 cases, or 35.00 USD for one case. Each includes unlimited users. Accounts include technical and attorney support, and user training is free.
