In their own words

CaseRead

CaseRead is legal research software that searches a firm's project files alongside public law and provides citations to both. Its public-law coverage spans federal statutes and regulations, those of all 50 states, DC and Puerto Rico, plus case law and federal materials. Deep research adds a web-search stage before producing an answer. Hallucination Shield checks whether citations exist and support their associated claims, with up to 50 citations checked per run. Users can edit Word documents in a browser and receive AI revisions as tracked changes. Plans list Google Drive and OneDrive or SharePoint connectors; confirmed document dates can be sent to Google Calendar. The maker says firm document vaults use separate database schemas, are private by default, and are not used to train AI models. It says its database and files are hosted in the United States on AWS via Supabase, with AES-256 encryption at rest and HTTPS on every page. The free plan includes three research messages and two citation checks per day, 25-page analysis, three projects, 100 MB storage, and one user. Solo costs $71 a month per seat billed annually, and a seven-day trial is listed.

Factum

Factum provides legal research, drafting and document review based on consolidated law across 28 European jurisdictions. Its library covers national laws and bylaws, EU law, and amendments incorporated into the version in force. Answers cite the article supporting each legal claim and direct users to the applicable consolidated text. Users can create contracts, appeals and other legal documents from templates, or request explanations and edits to selected text. Table Review handles selected documents in parallel, cites the source passage for each finding and exports results to XLSX, DOCX or CSV. Factum is available on macOS, Windows and the web, with a Word add-in for research, drafting and clause checks. It also offers connectors for Google and Outlook tools and an MCP server for compatible AI and development clients. The paid service has no free plan and includes a 14-day trial. Listed annual plans are 595.00 EUR for Standard, 980.00 EUR for Pro and 2455.00 EUR for Team; Business pricing is custom.
