In their own words
Challonge
Challonge is competition management software for organizers handling registration, tournament progress, and records. It offers more than 25 formats, including single and double elimination, round robin, Swiss, and Grand Prix. Tournament pages can bring together brackets, participants, standings, sponsor details, stations, discussions, and score reporting. Event tools cover paid or unpaid tickets, registration fees, analytics, and attendee check-in; communities can host tournaments, events, contests, announcements, statistics, and Elo leaderboards. Applications can use its API to create tournaments and report scores. Paid registration runs through Stripe. The free Standard plan supports unlimited tournaments, events, and communities, up to 256 participants per tournament, and charges a $0.75 per-order Challonge fee on paid registrations. Premier is $83.88 a year, billed annually, and supports up to 512 participants, with no Challonge registration fee. Both plans limit single-stage Round Robin tournaments to 40 participants. Brackets can be embedded on websites; Premier adds custom themes and priority support. Challonge is available on web and through an API.
LeagueCircuit
LeagueCircuit is a free, open-source platform for organizing esports tournaments and giving spectators a way to follow them. Organizers can use single or double elimination, round robin, Swiss, groups followed by knockout, or battle-royale points races. The homepage names PUBG, CS2, Valorant and Dota 2, and says the platform can be used for any game. Scores, brackets and standings update in real time over encrypted WebSockets. For battle-royale events, it calculates placement and kill points automatically, with results for each lobby and a running leaderboard. Organizers also get player scorecards, top-fragger charts, event-wide points-progression graphs and team rosters that can include captains, substitutes and coaches. Spectators can open shareable tournament links without an account or installation. Tournament names, player names or nicknames, and results are visible to anyone with the unlisted link. The software is MIT-licensed and can be self-hosted; independently run instances are the responsibility of their operators. The privacy policy says organizer passwords are stored as salted hashes and the site uses a functional session cookie without advertising, analytics or third-party tracking cookies.
