Character.AI is an interactive entertainment service for connecting, learning, and telling stories through conversations with Characters. Users can discover millions of Characters and have unlimited conversations, or create heroes, settings, stories, and challenges to share with the community. The company says everyone can send unlimited messages for free. The Free plan includes unlimited messaging, basic memory, and access to Character Voice. Character Calls supports two-way voice conversations, and users can switch between talking and texting. The c.ai+ plan costs $94.99 a year and renews yearly; its listed benefits include waiting-room access, faster message generation, a members-only community channel with faster feedback and support, a membership badge, and early access to features. The company says c.ai+ messages are generated approximately 2–3 times faster. Character.AI is available on Android, iOS, and web. Its Safety Center describes additional content safeguards for users under 18 and says an account requires users to be at least 13, or 16 in Europe.
