Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool
Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool is a free Windows utility for protecting desktops, laptops, and servers against ransomware and cryptolocker threats. Cloud-assisted behavior detection identifies and blocks ransomware and crypto-malware, while automatic file scanning and monitoring looks for threats to neutralize. The tool can also detect and block adware, pornware, riskware, and crypto-mining software. Its multilayered protection is designed to cover ransomware from delivery through execution. Kaspersky says the tool works alongside current security software and is compatible with most cybersecurity solutions. The Home plan costs nothing for up to five devices per account. The Business plan costs nothing for up to 50 devices and includes email reporting. Supported systems are Windows 7–11 and Windows Server 2008 R2–2022. Requirements include a 1 GHz Intel Pentium III or compatible CPU, 1 GB of memory for 32-bit systems or 2 GB for 64-bit systems, 350 MB of disk space, and an internet connection for updates. The product page describes the tool as GDPR ready. Installing it alongside Kaspersky paid endpoint products is prevented to avoid application overhead.
