In their own words
Checkbot
Checkbot is a Chrome extension for auditing websites for SEO, speed, and security issues. Its checks can flag broken links, duplicate content, invalid HTML, and insecure forms. The crawler can examine hundreds of pages in minutes, while site structure information shows linked pages, image, JavaScript and CSS files, non-indexable pages, and redirects. It can also reach staging and local development sites, password-protected pages, and private networks. Crawling and other functions run locally on the user's machine; Checkbot says it does not operate as a web service. The free Basic plan allows 100 URLs per crawl, unlimited crawls and sites, with ads. Professional costs $10 a year, billed $120 per year, or $15 a month; it raises the crawl limit to 10,000 URLs and adds localhost crawling, PDF reports, CSV and bulk export, and HTTP Auth support. The extension runs on Windows, macOS, Chrome OS, and Linux, but does not execute JavaScript during crawls. Usage analytics and crash reports are opt-in.
Greenflare
Greenflare is a free, open-source SEO web crawler for Linux, macOS and Windows. It reports page elements such as titles, meta robots directives and canonical tags, and analyzes HTTP headers and response codes including 301, 404 and 503. It parses robots.txt and can identify broken internal links returning 3xx, 4xx or 5xx responses. Users can extract information with XPath or CSS selectors and exclude URLs with patterns. Crawl results can be filtered and sorted, and any view can be exported to CSV. The project says Greenflare has been tested on sites with more than four million URLs. Its databases use SQLite tables and the .gflaredb extension. Installation options described by the project include pre-built installers and a Python package installable with pip. Bug reports go through GitHub issues, and developers can contribute pull requests. However, the official homepage says it has no published content, the listed download URL returns a 404 error, and the features and integrations pages are inaccessible. The official about page displays unrelated content.
