In their own words

Checkpoint64

Checkpoint64 backs up PC game save folders to the cloud and lets users browse and restore earlier versions. It checks folders every 60 seconds and uploads changed files after a game finishes writing, with each upload recorded as a version. It supports games from Steam, GOG, and Epic, along with emulators and modded setups; presets cover more than 140 games and seven emulators. For shared saves, a lock limits uploads to its holder. Locks expire, and a teammate taking over gets a warning and a logbook entry. Linking Discord can notify teammates when someone manually commits or restores a shared save. The app is listed for Windows 10 and 11, macOS on Apple Silicon, and Linux; Steam lists Steam Deck support. The free plan includes 20 MiB of cloud storage per space and does not expire. Pro costs €5 a month, while Lifetime costs €10, paid once. Save files are encrypted in transit and at rest, but the service is not end-to-end encrypted or zero-knowledge.

Gamekeeper

Gamekeeper is a Windows utility for identifying game-save directories and recording gameplay saves. Metadata files help locate save folders when games are added, and local scans support batch importing. Users can create multiple save Spaces for each game and visualized branches for different storylines or career choices. Incremental storage keeps only data changed from the previous save. Quick Save supports hotkeys, process monitoring, real-time saving, and scheduled saving; saving a game also creates a screen preview. Saves can be uploaded to private cloud storage and started on another device. Rclone synchronization supports local, FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, SMB/CIFS, and S3 sources, while automatic recognition covers Steam, GOG Galaxy, Epic Game Store, and XBOX PC. The software is in alpha testing, without beta or stable versions. Downloads require Windows 10/11 64-bit, and Process Tracking requires the.NET 9 runtime. The free plan costs nothing and limits Multi-Space to three per game. Default upload limits are 10MB for images and 100MB for videos.
