In their own words
Chegg Study
Chegg Study provides students with homework and textbook help for coursework through searchable solutions and expert Q&A. Chegg says its study library contains more than 100 million solutions and supports more than 50 subjects. Step-by-step explanations, sometimes with illustrations and definitions, address complex topics. The Chegg Study app lets users photograph an assignment to receive step-by-step solutions, and is available on Android and iOS alongside the web service. Chegg also lists writing and citation tools such as plagiarism checks, expert proofreading, grammar checks, and instant citations. Users can create an account and explore free tools before choosing a subscription. The Chegg Study plan costs $15.95 a month and includes homework solutions. Study Pack costs $19.95 a month and adds quiz and exam help, expert proofreading, plagiarism detection, and math help. Study Pack terms describe a 30-day free trial that changes to a monthly subscription unless canceled before it ends; subscribers can cancel anytime. Chegg notes that some features are unavailable for certain Q&As and some topic content is not available for all subjects.
Gionth
Gionth is a browser-based AI homework helper that provides step-by-step help across school subjects. Users can type a question or upload a homework photo for the AI to read and solve. Coverage includes math, science, English, history, and computer science, with results varying by topic and question clarity. The site also offers free GPA calculator, word counter, and citation generator tools. No account is needed to ask questions or submit photos; a free account can preserve question history across sessions. Questions are private by default, though users can opt to submit them for public-library consideration after automated quality and privacy checks. Gionth says product events omit question text, OCR text, email, raw IP, and full browser user-agent, while separate visit and security logs may include IP and browser information. It is designed for modern iPhone and Android browsers and requires no app. The free service may apply fair-use rate limits to bursts from one IP, and explanations depend on daily capacity. Gionth warns that AI can err, especially with unclear images or advanced problems, and advises checking its steps.
