Overview

Choicely combines a church-ready template with tools for adding branding and content, then managing the app without developers. The result can bring sermons, devotionals, announcements, events, and other resources together with registrations for services, groups, Bible studies, and special events. Ministry and volunteer promotion, push notifications, and engagement tracking extend the app beyond a static content library.

This breadth is useful for churches that want a single branded destination for information and participation. It still depends on staff keeping content current and sending relevant updates; the software does not supply the material that makes members return.

Key features

Content, registrations, and messaging

Members can access a sermon library alongside devotionals, announcements, events, and resources. Registration options cover several kinds of gatherings, while push notifications give churches a direct channel for updates. Engagement tracking can help teams gauge activity. Together, these tools suit congregations with a steady calendar and varied ministries better than a church seeking only a place to publish sermons.

App creation and integrations

Choicely builds native iOS and Android apps for App Store and Google Play publishing, and the platform also supports web. Churches can make the app their own through custom branding. Integrations include Supabase, Shopify, GitHub, and Squarespace, with HTTP API connections also supported. Supabase sign-in is limited to email and password or an emailed one-time code; social sign-in and magic links are not wrapped yet. That is a material constraint if a church relies on those login methods.

Security and support

Choicely says it encrypts public endpoint traffic with TLS 1.2 or higher and encrypts data at rest in primary databases and object storage. Customers can choose EU or US platform data residency, with EU as the default. Its online DPA supports GDPR, UK GDPR, and Swiss FADP, and customer prompts, outputs, and other customer content are not used to train general-purpose models. Customers with a support plan can contact support by phone, email, or exclusive support chat; Premium includes email support and Business includes priority support.

Pricing

The free plan is free. It includes 25 daily credits, up to 150 per month, 100 bonus signup credits, public mobile apps, unlimited collaborators, push notifications, and connections to third-party APIs and services. It is a useful way to start without a subscription, but the monthly credit ceiling may constrain teams with heavier app-building needs.

Premium costs 25.00 USD per month, billed $25 / month. It raises the allowance to 1,000 monthly credits and adds credit rollovers and top-ups, in-app purchases, GitHub connect and sync, and email support. This is the sensible paid tier for a church that needs a larger credit budget and support without moving to a higher-priced plan.

Business costs 50.00 USD per month, billed $50 / month. It also includes 1,000 monthly credits, but adds the most capable AI models, extended AI context, and priority support. Churches that do not need those AI capabilities or priority service may get little reason to pay twice Premium's monthly price.

Enterprise has custom pricing. It adds app design and build services, dedicated support, onboarding, publishing, custom functionality, and integrations. It fits organizations seeking a more tailored build and service relationship rather than a self-managed template workflow.

Platforms

Choicely supports Android, iOS, and web. Native app publishing to the App Store and Google Play is a clear advantage for churches prioritizing a branded mobile presence, while web access provides another route for members.

Who it's for

Choicely is best suited to churches that want branded apps, broad content and registration tools, and the capacity to manage updates themselves. It is less suitable for teams whose sign-in depends on social providers or magic links, or that need a plan whose credit allowance clearly matches a more intensive build without evaluating usage first.

Pros and cons

Pros: Church-ready templates and no-code management let teams create a branded app without developers.
Pros: Sermons, event registrations, ministry promotion, notifications, and engagement tracking cover more than content publishing alone.
Pros: The free plan includes public mobile apps, unlimited collaborators, notifications, and API connections.
Cons: The free plan caps credits at 25 daily and up to 150 monthly, making usage limits important from the outset.
Cons: Supabase sign-in does not yet wrap social sign-in or magic links.
Cons: Business costs 50.00 USD per month for the same 1,000 monthly credits as Premium, so its case rests on AI model access, extended context, and priority support.

Alternatives

Church App Builders is a useful starting point for comparing church app options. Choose Appy Pie Church App Maker if you want a free plan with unlimited edits and preview, while accepting that store publishing requires a paid plan. Subsplash Church App may suit churches focused on its free Subsplash Giving option, which has no setup costs but does charge card and ACH processing fees. Consider ChurchPlan if its free Essentials plan's unlimited members, online giving, automated tax receipts, personalized church mobile app, and donation links are a closer fit. SermonAudio Church App is worth considering for SermonAudio broadcasters, who can get ChurchOne App at no additional cost. Church Compass and Churchory are other options to compare. Ekko is an alternative for churches, conferences, and ministries, with quotes depending on audience size, selected features, and branding level. Tithely Custom Church App may suit buyers who prefer its $89.00 USD per month custom app plan, which can be cancelled any time without penalty and is included with Tithely All Access.

Verdict

Choose Choicely if your church wants a self-managed, branded app that combines content, registrations, notifications, and native app-store publishing. Its no-code workflow and broad church toolkit are the main draw; look elsewhere if your congregation needs Supabase social sign-in or magic links, or if the credit-based plans do not fit your expected usage.
