Chronosphere Telemetry Pipeline collects and routes telemetry for observability and security teams, with tools to transform, enrich and reduce data along the way. It supports logs, metrics, events and traces, although processing rules are more mature for logs. The product includes more than 25 built-in processing rules, and teams can create custom parsing and processing rules using AI natural language. Pipelines can be configured in a low-code or no-code drag-and-drop builder, tested in a Playground, or managed with an optional CLI. Chronosphere lists more than 70 sources and destinations, including Fluent Bit, Datadog, Splunk, Amazon S3 and Azure Event Grid. Its default architecture keeps the data plane in the customer’s environment and the management plane with Chronosphere; it requires an outbound connection to management and no inbound network connection. Chronosphere says it cannot access underlying data processed in the customer environment. A SaaS interface manages Fluent Bit configurations, agent health and updates. Fluent Bit is a free, open-source telemetry agent for collecting and processing logs, metrics, and traces. It can run as an edge agent on constrained systems or as a central collector for cloud infrastructure, and is designed for high throughput with low resource consumption. Built-in parsers cover JSON, Regex, LTSV, and Logfmt; metrics compatibility includes Prometheus and OpenTelemetry. More than 100 built-in plugins cover inputs, filters, analytics, and outputs, with destinations including Splunk, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, and Kafka. Buffering in memory or on the file system and backpressure handling support data flow, while network input and output plugins include TLS and SSL. Stream processing supports SQL queries, aggregation windows, forecasting, and data analysis. Users can write plugins in C, Lua, Golang, or WebAssembly. The Open-source Fluent Bit plan costs nothing, with self-hosted deployment under the Apache License 2.0.
