In their own words
Churn Buster
Churn Buster helps subscription businesses recover failed payments and understand or reduce cancellations. Its dunning service coordinates payment retries with branded email and SMS prompts asking customers to update their cards. Rolling Analysis assigns each failed payment one of four outcomes and counts a recovery only when the payment clears. For cancellation saves, Cancel Flows asks customers why they are leaving, presents offers matched to those reasons, and reports exit feedback. It includes Smart Offers, A/B testing, segmentation, Sentiment AI, and an optional one-click cancellation path. The company lists integrations including Stripe, Recharge, Shopify, Loop, Skio, Recurly, and Braintree, among others, and supports custom API setups. Churn Buster says it serves mid-market and enterprise subscription brands in ecommerce, SaaS, membership, and digital subscription businesses. Its free Measure plan includes recovery analytics, baseline comparison, and Churn Buster MCP. Dunning or Cancel Flows starts at $269 a month; Dunning & Cancel Flows starts at $430 a month. Both are flat monthly fees based on MRR tier, month-to-month, with no contract. The company says its team responds within one business day through email, chat, and video calls.
FOSSBilling
FOSSBilling is free, open-source billing and client-management software for hosting and other online service businesses. It can issue invoices automatically, send payment reminders, handle recurring or one-time pricing, support multiple currencies and apply promo codes. Hosting products can create and manage accounts through cPanel/WHM, DirectAdmin, HestiaCP, CWP and Plesk. Domain functions cover registration, renewal, transfers and WHOIS checks through registrar integrations, though domain prices are entered manually rather than retrieved live. A REST API provides admin, authenticated-client and public guest endpoints. Documented protections include HTTPS enforcement, session fingerprinting, CSRF protection, rate limiting, IP blocking, CAPTCHA and activity logs. It is self-hosted, requiring PHP 8.3, 8.4 or 8.5 and a MySQL-compatible database, with Apache, LiteSpeed/OpenLiteSpeed or NGINX. The project is beta, under active development, and notes rough edges and limited support.
