Overview

Foodcost calculates cost price, food-cost percentage and gross margin for dishes made from ingredients and sub-recipes. When a supplier price changes, each affected dish and sub-recipe is recalculated automatically. That makes it useful for keeping cost and margin decisions aligned with changing purchase prices; the benefit depends on maintaining current ingredient and recipe data.

The menu-price simulator connects a selling price to its margin and shows the price needed to reach a target food-cost percentage. Margin alerts flag dishes that fall below a target after purchase prices change. These tools suit operators who use cost targets to guide menu decisions, rather than those who only need a recipe record.

Key features

Recipe costing: Ingredient and sub-recipe costs roll up into cost price, food-cost percentage and gross margin per dish. This gives a restaurant a practical basis for comparing recipes and reviewing menu profitability.
Supplier price recalculation: A changed purchase price flows through every dish and sub-recipe using that ingredient. This reduces the need to revisit each affected calculation by hand.
Menu pricing and margin alerts: The simulator helps set prices against a food-cost target, while alerts identify dishes that slip below a target margin after price changes. They support targeted reviews rather than requiring operators to search every dish.
Cilurzo Orders connection: Foodcost links to the venue’s menu in Cilurzo Orders, and assistant orders use the normal menu and cost prices. This is most relevant to venues using that ordering module.
AI assistant access: Cilurzo says venues can be reached through ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants via MCP, and includes this capability in every plan, including Lite. Requests use the same checks as the booking page, and unconfirmed requests expire after two hours.
Language and hosting claims: The product page lists Dutch, French and English for guests; its WhatsApp assistant is described as supporting Dutch, French, English, German and Spanish. Cilurzo describes the product as GDPR compliant and hosted in the EU.

Pricing

Cilurzo offers a 14-day free trial without requiring a credit card. The Lite plan is free, billed free per module forever. It includes core features of one module, but volume limits apply.

Pro costs 79.00 EUR per month, billed per module and per month. Prices exclude VAT and are per venue. Buyers choose Reservations, Orders, Events or Planning, can add or drop a module whenever they want, and get Foodcost included free. This fits a venue that wants one selected module plus Foodcost without committing to the whole suite, though further modules carry per-module pricing.

Ultimate costs 250.00 EUR per month, billed per month, excluding VAT and per venue. Reservations, Orders, Events and Planning are included alongside Foodcost, and multiple locations are supported. It is the more suitable choice for operators needing the full set across locations; a single-module venue may find Pro the more proportionate plan.

Platforms

Foodcost runs on the web. That suits browser-based venue use, but the product’s listed platform is narrower than alternatives that also offer mobile apps.

Who it's for

Foodcost is aimed at restaurants that build dishes from ingredients and sub-recipes, need purchase-price changes reflected across recipes, and make menu decisions around margin or food-cost targets. Its strongest case is for venues that will use Cilurzo Orders or another included module, or need Ultimate’s multi-location support. It is less compelling for a restaurant seeking an unrestricted free Foodcost plan or a standalone, clearly priced single-module purchase.

Pros and cons

Pro: Supplier price changes automatically recalculate affected dishes and sub-recipes, making ongoing cost maintenance more direct.
Pro: Menu pricing connects selling prices to target food-cost percentages, with alerts for dishes that fall below target margin.
Pro: Foodcost is included with Pro and Ultimate, and Ultimate supports multiple locations.
Con: Pro’s 79.00 EUR per month price is per module and per venue, excluding VAT, so adding modules raises the commitment.
Con: Foodcost is web-based, which may not suit teams requiring a listed mobile app.

Verdict

Choose Cilurzo Foodcost if your restaurant needs supplier-price changes to flow into recipe costs and margin decisions, especially if you also want Cilurzo’s ordering or multi-location plans. Its cost-and-target workflow is the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if you need a clearly included standalone Foodcost plan without Lite’s volume constraints or per-module pricing.
