Plotwell is a browser-based platform connecting screenplay development with storyboarding, production planning and budgeting. Its studio includes logline, synopsis, treatment, character breakdown and pitch-deck documents, plus a development agent. The screenplay editor formats script elements and supports Final Draft and Fountain import and export, along with PDF export. AI tools can generate scenes, brainstorm, rewrite dialogue and insert text using project context; Script Doctor analyzes pacing, act breaks, structure, character consistency and dialogue patterns. Storyboards can generate AI panel images from scene descriptions, while production tools extract cast, props and other elements, assign shoot dates and locations, and generate call sheets. Budgeting covers category and line-item costs, over-budget alerts, calculations and PDF or CSV export. The free plan is free and includes one project, one collaborator, 10 AI credits, all features and version history for the last five saves. Additional projects and collaborators each cost $3 a month. AI credit packs cost $5 as a one-time purchase for 200 credits, $10, paid once for 500 credits, or $20, paid once for 1,400 credits.
