In their own words
CircleUs
CircleUs is a location-sharing app for families and other invited circles, available on Android and iOS. Its live map refreshes every eight seconds. A privacy bubble lets members share a general neighborhood rather than an exact address, with visibility set per circle; people must accept an invitation before joining. Place alerts report arrivals and departures at selected locations, and one-tap SOS can notify circle members and contact emergency services with live GPS coordinates. Drive reports cover speed, phone use, hard braking, and a score after each trip. Elder care mode can learn routines, flag unusual inactivity, monitor battery, and send check-in pings. CircleUs says location data is end-to-end encrypted, is not sold or used for advertising, and can be exported or deleted in settings. The Free Forever plan costs nothing and supports up to five members, two circles, and three place alerts. Gold costs $9 a month billed annually; its listed features include unlimited members and alerts, 30-day location history, crash detection with 911 dispatch, driving reports, elder care monitoring, and AI smart alerts and routines. Gold's location history is deleted after 30 days.
OtoZen
OtoZen is a family location-sharing and driving-safety app for Android and iOS. When location sharing is enabled, family members can view a driver's live location, speed, posted speed limit, and estimated arrival time during a trip. Other features include places alerts, speeding and phone-use alerts, past drives, SOS response, and student-driver logs. Trip reports and Drive Scores provide driving insights, while weekly drive-score reports are a premium feature. Automatic crash response can connect supported users in the USA with a trained agent who coordinates with local emergency services; student-driver DMV logs are also available only in the USA. Users control who can see their location and arrival time, and can stop sharing or change visibility for a person. OtoZen says trips and other listed drive and commute information are stored on the mobile device, not in the cloud. It says it does not share user data with advertisers, police, or insurance companies; its privacy policy also allows sharing with service providers such as Firebase. The Free Plan is free. Family Plan is $49.99 a year, and Family Plus Plan is $64.99 a year.
