In their own words
Classtime
Classtime is a web-based classroom assessment tool for checking students’ understanding during lessons. Teachers activate questions on students’ devices and see responses in real time, with class performance and per-question results available. It offers ten technology-enabled question types, including multiple choice, free text, categorizer, sorter, highlight text and hot spot. Teachers can use more than 50,000 prepared questions or create and share their own sets. Responses can be graded automatically, manually validated or scored with partial points; results can be exported as PDF or Excel reports. Sessions can be published by URL, code, student portal, Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. The free Basic plan supports up to 40 students connected simultaneously; Premium supports up to 300 and costs $9 a month per teacher, with a 60-day trial. Google Classroom import requires Premium or a School License. Classtime says its app, server and database connections use TLS, database data is encrypted at rest, and daily backups are made. Teacher support is full on screens wider than 768 pixels; smaller mobile screens have restricted features.
Crowdpurr
Crowdpurr creates interactive experiences for live, virtual and hybrid events, including polls, trivia games, social walls and bingo. Participants join through a browser, with no native app download required. Hosts can show Presentation View on a projector or TV, stream it on YouTube Live or OBS, or share it in Zoom or Webex. A Webex Embedded App can launch Crowdpurr inside a Webex meeting. The trivia library contains over 2,000 games, and Crowdpurr AI can generate games, add questions, create notes and rewrite questions. Social Walls can collect hashtag posts from X (Twitter) and Instagram, while participants can upload photos. Responses, results, lead capture and rankings can be exported to Excel or Google Sheets. The free Basic Plan allows 20 participants and 15 questions per experience, three simultaneous experiences and 15 minutes of host live streaming. Paid plans start at $24.99/mo; Classroom is listed at $49.99 a month and includes 100 participants per experience, 100 questions and 10 simultaneous experiences. Crowdpurr says it hosts on Amazon Web Services and uses SHA-256 AES/CBC encryption across SSL protocols.
