In their own words
Clauselex
Clauselex is a web workspace for legal professionals that brings matter documents, legal research, and drafting together. Users can add notices, agreements, judgments, and supporting papers to a matter and draw on them as context for research and drafting. Research can start with a plain-language question or a citation, with authorities and source links to explore. Deep Research supports more extensive investigations, and treatment analysis can explore subsequent decisions where supporting cases are available.
Drafting tools support working drafts, suggested edits, and saved-version comparisons; Word export is available on eligible plans. Shared matters let teams discuss work with comments and review workflows. Clauselex's bulk judgment data covers Indian Supreme Court and High Court decisions, while live search uses the Indian Kanoon API. The free tier includes one matter, five Deep Research runs in total, three monthly drafts without export, five monthly uploads, and seven-day history. Paid plans start at ₹999/user/mo. The service warns that AI may make mistakes and source coverage may be incomplete, so users should check facts, legal reasoning, current position, and relevant passages before relying on answers.
Curia
Curia is a web-based legal research workspace for Canadian lawyers, paralegals, law clerks, and legal teams. It searches case law from nine provinces and federal authorities; Quebec and the territories are not supported. Within a matter, users can keep documents, research, timeline events, drafts, and tasks together. Curia can prepare first-pass factums, memos, and letters with linked sources, then export them to Word or PDF. Uploaded documents can inform a matter analysis, with issues extracted, dates added to timelines, and contradictions flagged for review. The citation checker checks citation format and decision metadata matches, but not pinpoint accuracy, proposition support, good-law status, or research completeness. The free plan includes five credits without a credit card. Paid plans begin with Starter at C$39 a month, billed in CAD and cancellable anytime. Credit use varies: document chat answers cost 0.25 credits, most research and drafting actions cost 1, matter analysis costs 3, and settlement proposals cost 5. Curia says data and uploads are stored on servers in Canada and are not used to train models.
