SafeScript
SafeScript stores and organizes source code snippets in a local SQLite database, without requiring a cloud account. Its syntax-aware editor has line numbers, instant search helps find saved snippets, and each snippet includes a notes field. The app is available for Linux and macOS, with version-specific features and pricing. On Linux, folders support drag-to-reorder organization, and users can choose dark or light mode. That version is free and open source under the MIT License and is distributed as a Flatpak through Flathub. The Mac version is built with Swift and SwiftUI and includes real-time search, syntax-aware editing, line numbers, and local SQLite storage. It costs $7.99, paid once through the Mac App Store and requires macOS 15.2 or later. The Mac App Store listing says the developer indicated that the app does not collect data. Thomas J. Allen is identified as the designer and programmer. SafeScript supports private snippets. Its local-storage approach and separate Linux and Mac terms make it useful to distinguish which release fits a reader's platform and requirements.
