In their own words
ClockOut
ClockOut is a GPS time clock, scheduling and payroll-preparation tool for hourly teams. Employees can clock in and out through a phone app, browser or shared-tablet kiosk using a PIN or QR badge; each punch records time and GPS location. Scheduling covers recurring shifts, open shifts, swaps and confirmations. An exception inbox gathers missed clock-outs, late arrivals, skipped breaks and overtime alerts. Starter adds PTO balances and accrual, requests and approvals, and kiosk mode. Pro generates payroll-formatted CSV files for ADP, Gusto and QuickBooks, which must be downloaded and imported manually. Clock-in and clock-out punches can be saved offline and sync with their original tap time after reconnection, but breaks require a connection. ClockOut says it records location at clock-in and clock-out, discards optional boundary checks during shifts, and does not track location off the clock. Plans are Free at free for up to two people, Starter at $19 a month, and Pro at $39 a month; paid plans include five people, with extra-person charges listed.
EmploTime
EmploTime is a web-based time and attendance system for employees to clock in and out and administrators to review employee time. The maker describes it as designed for the basic needs of small and medium businesses and stores. The responsive app can be used on PCs, tablets, and mobile phones, and authorized devices can serve as company clocks. Administrators can view, print, save, and export reports in PDF, Word, and Excel formats. Timekeeping features include buddy punch lockout, geolocation at clocking, clock-out notes, overtime and exception reports, automatic break deduction, multiple punching, and PTO/UTO management. The system can send real-time clock-in and clock-out notifications, and the maker advertises free 24/7 support. The trial lasts 30 days and does not require a credit card. After the trial, employees cannot use the virtual clock and customers cannot see transactions until they acquire a yearly plan. There is no free plan. Listed plans include $5 a year, shown as $5 USD / Month with annual billing for up to five employees, and $25 a month for up to 20 employees.
