In their own words

Cloudflare WARP

Cloudflare WARP is a client that sits between a device and the Internet, with modes intended to provide a faster, more secure and more private connection. Its 1.1.1.1 with WARP mode replaces the device's Internet connection with an optimized protocol, and WARP encrypts more traffic leaving the device to limit snooping. It runs on the same network as Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 DNS resolver. WARP+ subscribers can access a larger network with more cities, which may reduce latency to a Cloudflare data center and improve browsing speed. Organizations can integrate WARP with Gateway to enroll devices and protect remote workers. The client supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows, with up to five simultaneous devices. Cloudflare says it collects limited DNS query and traffic data, excluding payload, while the app is enabled. Some app and site traffic using microphone or camera access can bypass WARP and expose the original IP. Encryption may reduce throughput, particularly for desktop users on high-speed broadband, and location-dependent licensed content may not work properly.

RiseupVPN

RiseupVPN is a free personal VPN for traffic encryption, location anonymization and censorship circumvention. Clients are available for Android, Linux, macOS and Windows, and torrent support is listed. The software is designed to install and run without account registration or configuration. It routes internet traffic through an encrypted connection to riseup.net before reaching the public internet. Riseup describes protection against ISP surveillance, blocking most tracking companies and bypassing government censorship where internet access remains available. Its stated logs exclude IP addresses, DNS requests, traffic flows, browser fingerprints and identifying information; minimal logs are encrypted and rotated within five days. Riseup warns that traffic can face man-in-the-middle attacks after leaving the VPN gateway, so HTTPS remains important. The service is funded by donations and estimates its cost at approximately $60 USD per person per year. Android installation is documented through F-Droid, Google Play or an LEAP APK. Riseup says clients use open-source Bitmask software. Windows lacks a kill switch, and the Linux Snap package is out of support.
