In their own words
CloudMounter
CloudMounter connects cloud storage and web services to a computer as local drives, so users can browse and manage remote files in Finder on macOS or Explorer on Windows. It supports services including Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Amazon S3, WebDAV, SFTP, FTP, Box, Backblaze, MEGA, OpenStack Swift and pCloud. Files can be transferred between cloud services by dragging and dropping, without first downloading them to the computer. Remote files can also be worked with without using local storage.
The maker describes client-side AES-256 encryption before files are sent to cloud storage. On macOS, the FAQ says login details are held in Keychain rather than on CloudMounter’s servers. Offline work is supported on macOS and listed as coming soon for Windows. Windows Free permits full access to one Google Drive, Dropbox and OneDrive account after the 14-day PRO trial; additional accounts and services are read-only. Mac yearly subscriptions have a 7-day trial. Mac and Windows Team licenses are separate and cannot be shared across platforms.
Triofox
Triofox provides VPN-free access to files on existing on-premises or cloud storage. It supports mapped drives and file locking to preserve familiar file-server workflows, plus offline access when a connection is unavailable. The service can connect to file servers, Amazon S3, and Azure, and names Active Directory, Azure AD, and Okta as single sign-on providers. Triofox Classic is self-hosted on Windows Server, while Triofox.ai is cloud-hosted and requires no server installation. Listed editions provide desktop drive mapping for Windows and Mac, iOS and Android access, and a web-based file manager. Office Edition costs $11 a month, billed up front annually; Business Edition costs $15 a month and Enterprise Edition costs $22 a month on the same annual billing basis. Business adds ransomware protection, audit trace, SAML integration, secure data rooms, retention policy, and device approval. Enterprise lists a HIPAA/GDPR Compliance Center. Standard Support is included with every edition, while Premium Support is included with Enterprise and optional for Office and Business. A 30-day trial is listed; there is no free plan.
