Overview

ClubDJ Pro is two-deck DJ software with audio mixing across desktop, iOS, and a browser mixer; desktop adds video and real-time stem separation. It best suits DJs who want those visual tools without committing to a recurring desktop license. The browser option is more constrained, and the free desktop app’s 30-minute session cap makes it a poor fit for uninterrupted sets.

Key features

Mixing and automation

Beat and BPM detection, beat sync, live waveforms, three-band EQ, vinyl scratching, and beat-matched loops cover the core transitions between tracks. Smart Transition can beatmatch and mix between decks, while Auto-DJ can play a playlist hands-free. These automations are useful for transitions or unattended playback, but DJs who want to control every change will get more from working the decks themselves.

Video and stems

Desktop combines dual-deck video mixing with 25+ GPU effects, 41+ transitions, and 13+ visual overlays. It can also separate tracks in real time into vocal, melody, bass, and beat stems. That makes it a stronger fit for video DJs and VJs than a basic audio-only setup; these capabilities are desktop features, not part of the browser mixer.

Controllers, output, and files

Desktop supports MIDI controllers and can send mixed video to a projector or second screen in 1080p, a useful pairing for gigs with a visual display. It plays local audio and video files, but does not stream from Spotify. There is no cloud library sync, so DJs who depend on synchronized libraries across devices should look elsewhere. Audio is processed locally and not uploaded to the maker’s servers; the privacy policy also describes anonymized usage analytics and crash or performance data.

Pricing

Online Mixer

The Online Mixer is free and requires no account. It has no video mixing or MIDI support, so it suits browser-based audio mixing rather than a controller-led or visual performance.

iOS Pro subscription (Annual)

The iOS Pro subscription costs 29.99 USD per year and unlocks all sound effects and premium features. It is the paid option for iOS users who want those additions; the free option gives up the premium features.

Desktop

The desktop download has all features unlocked, but free sessions stop after 30 minutes and require a relaunch. The Desktop license costs 39.99 USD per once, removes the timer, and includes lifetime updates. The free edition can be used for commercial gigs, as can the licensed version, but the session cap makes the free edition impractical for an uninterrupted event set.

Platforms

ClubDJ Pro is available on iOS, macOS, Windows, and the web. Desktop requires 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, or macOS 12 Monterey or later. The desktop app has two decks; cloud library sync is not supported.

Who it's for

The maker positions the desktop app for mobile and wedding DJs, video DJs and VJs, beginners, and DJs moving away from subscription software. The mix of video tools, stems, controller support, and a one-time desktop license is most compelling for DJs who need visual output and want to avoid an ongoing desktop subscription. It is less suited to Spotify-dependent workflows or libraries that need to sync across devices.

Pros and cons

Pros

Desktop combines video mixing, real-time four-part stem separation, MIDI support, and 1080p output for visual sets.
The desktop license is a one-time 39.99 USD per once and includes lifetime updates.
The maker says both free and licensed desktop editions can be used for commercial gigs.
The free desktop edition unlocks all features, letting users assess the full toolset despite its session cap.

Cons

Free desktop sessions end after 30 minutes, requiring a relaunch that interrupts longer sets.
The Online Mixer lacks video mixing and MIDI support.
Local-file playback does not include Spotify streaming, and there is no cloud library sync.
The iOS Pro subscription is recurring at 29.99 USD per year.

Alternatives

DJ Software is the broader category to browse. Choose djay if you want a free download with core mixing features and the option to unlock advanced features through a PRO subscription. rekordbox is a better fit if its free plan’s basic music management, 1,000 cloud tracks with owner registration or Hardware Unlock, and one synced device match your library needs. Choose VirtualDJ for nonprofessional use without professional equipment on its free plan, or its 4.00 USD per month HOME plan for entry-level controllers. DJUCED suits Hercules controller owners who want a free four-deck option with MIDI control, streaming, recording, Ableton Link, and Rekordbox XML import. future.dj pro offers a free two-deck option for non-commercial or home use, with controller support limited to 10 min/session and limited audio effects. Mixxx is worth considering if you want a free full version with no official paid or pro edition. Serato DJ Pro is another option, with plans starting at 11.99 USD per month. PCDJ DEX 4 is a paid alternative at 149.00 USD per once, with updates and activation for 3 machines.

Verdict

Choose ClubDJ Pro if desktop video mixing, real-time stems, and a one-time license are central to your setup. Its free desktop version exposes the full feature set, but the 30-minute cutoff makes the 39.99 USD per once license the practical choice for uninterrupted commercial gigs. Look elsewhere if you need Spotify streaming or cloud library sync.
