CLVTools
CLVTools is a free, GPL-3-licensed R package for probabilistic customer attrition modeling when purchases are not governed by contracts. It implements Pareto/NBD, BG/NBD, Gamma/Gompertz/NBD, and Gamma/Gamma models. Using transaction histories with customer IDs and purchase dates, plus prices in its example data, it predicts individual customer behavior such as expected future transactions and the probability that a customer remains active. Forecast horizons can be configured, supporting predictive customer lifetime value work, cohort analysis, and customer segmentation. Time-invariant covariates work across the models, while some models accept time-varying covariates. Extensions include correlated purchase and attrition processes, L2 regularization, and equality constraints for contextual-factor parameters. Stable installation is available from CRAN; a development version uses GitHub and devtools. Linux, macOS, and Windows are supported, though compiling from source requires the external GNU GSL C++ library. Documentation includes a walkthrough, reference manual, and vignettes.
HAM
HAM is a web-based analytics platform for subscription brands. It focuses on subscriber retention, churn, growth, cohort analysis, customer segmentation, and profitability metrics, with real-time data refresh. Teams can ask Claude Desktop or Claude Code questions about subscription data through HAM’s MCP connection. They can also describe a dashboard in plain English, then edit, save, and share the generated result. HAM says custom dashboards contain more than 70 charts and segments using attributes such as product, activation date, discount code, and order tags. Custom segments help investigate churn causes, including drop-offs linked to order number or shipping delays. The platform preserves retention, churn, and lifetime-value history through migrations, including cohorts from 12 or more months earlier. It tracks product additions and removals, including bundles, for cross-sell analysis and average-order-value growth. HAM can surface trends and anomalies and compare cohort outcomes during retention tests. Pricing is on request.
