In their own words
CMPRO
CMPRO is web-based product lifecycle and configuration management software for organizations handling regulatory compliance and quality-system requirements. PSA presents it to government and commercial enterprises, including aerospace, defense, facilities management, and medical-device industries. The enterprise edition uses concurrent-user licensing, with pricing available on request. CMPRO provides customizable workflows, change processes, collaboration, notifications, and electronic signatures. Repositories cover drawings, parts lists, documents, and software with revision tracking. Configuration status accounting supports ANSI/EIA-649-B, SAE EIA-649-1, and ASME Y14.34M. Modules include contract and project tracking, inventory, work orders, non-conformance, requisitions, as-built tracking, baselines, and audit management. Work Order and Inventory modules integrate with As-Built for manufacturing and maintenance tracking. PSA states CMMC (NIST 800-171) alignment and Navy Authority to Operate approvals, and offers weekday support, implementation help, and training.
GitPLM
GitPLM manages product manufacturing information alongside product designs in Git. It brings together bills of materials, part numbers and manufacturing release data, including combined BOMs across subassemblies and release information for custom components. Its terminal interface supports column searches, per-column parametric searches, editing and datasheet links. Partmaster and BOM records use CSV files, while release configuration uses YAML. GitPLM can provide a parts database to KiCad through its HTTP Libraries feature and reload data when CSV files change. Optional release hooks can run tools such as KiCad’s InteractiveHtmlBom generator, though those hooks are supported only on Linux and macOS. The KiCad HTTP server can use an authentication token. GitPLM is described as a self-contained Go binary with no dependencies, runs on Linux, macOS and Windows, and is deployed on-premise. It is free, released under the Apache 2.0 license, and designed for small teams building products.
