In their own words
CodeHS
CodeHS provides computer science curriculum and classroom tools for K–12 teachers, students and schools. Its catalog includes more than 100 customizable, standards-aligned courses across computer science, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and digital literacy. The browser-based editor supports more than 10 languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript and C++. Classroom tools include autograders, in-editor help, code history and a blocks-to-text experience. Its learning management system gives teachers visibility into class progress, assignment grading and students' coding process. Listed AI features include hints, grading, Ask AI and Vibe Coding; the free-versus-Pro comparison identifies AI grading and hints as Pro features. The permanent Free teacher plan requires no credit card and has no per-student fees, but includes no downloads. Individual Learner All Access costs $99 a month, billed monthly, or $990 a year, billed annually. CodeHS says it is not an accredited school or online course provider, so Individual Learner students do not receive official grades or academic credit upon completion. Most integrations require a school license.
Rust Playground
Rust Playground is a free web tool for trying Rust when a local installation or compiler is unavailable. Its syntax-highlighted editor compiles code in debug or release mode against the stable, beta, or nightly channel. The available crates include the top 100 by all-time downloads, Rust Cookbook crates, and their dependencies, though some candidates are omitted if they fail to compile on Linux or stable Rust or have invalid feature selections. Users can run rustfmt and Clippy, or inspect LLVM IR, assembly, and Rust MIR. Code can be loaded from or saved to a GitHub Gist and shared; Rust documentation and mdbook examples can also link to code for editing or execution. Docker containers supply and isolate its compilers and tools. Compilation and execution have no outside network access and are limited by memory and time. The latest entered code is saved in browser local storage, shared among windows as a single resource. The project is open source under Apache License 2.0 or MIT. Self-hosting is documented, and requires a GitHub token for Gist loading and saving.
