In their own words
CodeInterview
CodeInterview is a technical assessment platform for interviewing and hiring developers. Candidates and interviewers solve coding problems together in a browser-based editor, with support for 40+ languages and frameworks across plans. Interviews can include video calling, a whiteboard, private notes, templates, and code playback. Playback records keystrokes and code output for later review. For screening, candidates can complete tests and take-home projects with deadlines, time limits, and real-time updates. A Chrome extension creates and shares interview links from the browser. API and webhook connections can automate tasks, while ATS integration is listed for Enterprise. CodeInterview states that it is SOC 2 certified and GDPR-compliant. After an interview, candidates are locked out, leaving notes and playback accessible to the team. The free plan includes two interviews per month. A 14-day trial provides access to all features without a credit card. The service is available through the web, an extension, and an API; chat and email support are listed for every plan.
Remote Collab
Remote Collab is a free, open-source SublimeText plugin for real-time pair programming. It lets several developers work on one project together while staying in the SublimeText editor. A user starts a collaboration session from the file to edit, then shares the host computer’s IP address with a colleague. The colleague connects by selecting “Remote: Connect to Session” and entering that address. Installation is available through Sublime Package Control or manually from a ZIP or TAR.GZ archive. Remote Collab lists Linux, macOS, and Windows as supported platforms, while its editor support is SublimeText. TeamRemote maintains the project; its project information identifies four members as students at Allegheny College. The GitHub repository lists an MIT license. The Remote Collab plan is free at free, with open-source software and no paid tier listed.
