In their own words
CodeLite
CodeLite is a free, open-source IDE for C, C++, Rust, PHP, and Node.js; project materials also identify Python development as a focus. It runs on Linux, macOS, and Windows. Its core tools include smart completion, code navigation, a built-in debugger, Git integration, and a plugin system. Configured language servers can add completion, go-to-definition, and reference search. The Git plugin covers cloning, staging, commits, pushes, pulls, branches, diffs, and history. PHP tools include XDebug debugging, syntax checks, refactoring, project management, and SFTP synchronization. The Remoty plugin supports remote coding tasks including building, execution, debugging, Git, and project management. References to classes, functions, and files in Claude Code and Kiro CLI can be opened in the editor. CodeLite is distributed under GPLv2, with an exception allowing third-party plugins to use other licenses. The Git plugin requires Git to be installed separately.
Huly Code
Huly Code is a free, open-source integrated development environment based on IntelliJ IDEA Community Edition. It includes code navigation, completion, and analysis, and works with modern Language Servers, including Rust Analyzer. Tree-sitter supports syntax highlighting and code analysis. For plugins, Huly Code uses open-source software rather than proprietary JetBrains plugins. Huly says it is developing the IDE to examine efficient collaboration between humans and AI agents in software development. The README describes optional integration with Huly Platform as a future capability, rather than a current feature. The project is described as open-source and free to use, with a listed Free plan at free. The repository links to a security policy. Its specified coding tools and language-server support give developers core navigation, completion, and analysis capabilities in an IDE built on the Community Edition foundation. Those interested in the stated human-and-AI collaboration focus may also want to follow the project, while treating Huly Platform integration as a future possibility.
