| Integrations | The integrations catalog includes GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Gerrit, Google Play, GitHub Releases, Firebase App Distribution, Firebase Test Lab, Huawei AppGallery, Gradle and self-hosted repositories. | Analysis providers include Prometheus, Datadog and Stackdriver, while notifications can be sent to Slack or webhook endpoints. |
| Security | Builds run in virtual machines that are destroyed after completion, and the security statement says build data is cleaned when a build finishes except artifacts available in build logs and for download. | PipeCD supports single sign-on and role-based access control, keeps credentials out of the control plane and makes only outbound requests from piped. |
| Self-hosting | The main Codemagic CI/CD service is hosted, while the separately released Codemagic Patch OTA server can be self-hosted. | Operators can install the control plane themselves and run piped as a Kubernetes pod, ECS container, serverless function or local process. |
| Support | The free individual plan includes community support, while the enterprise plan includes priority support. | The project directs users to documentation, GitHub issues and discussions, and the CNCF Slack #pipecd channel for help. |
| What it does | Codemagic is a cloud CI/CD service for building, testing, signing and distributing mobile applications. | PipeCD is a GitOps continuous-delivery platform intended to give one deployment and operations interface across applications and platforms. |

In their own words
Codemagic
Codemagic is a cloud-based CI/CD service for building, testing, and deploying mobile apps. It supports Flutter, React Native, native iOS and Android, Unity, Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile,.NET MAUI, and Ionic projects. Builds can start after code pushes, tag creation, or merged pull requests, with workflows for development, testing, and production distribution. Deployment can be automated to the Apple App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store, and Huawei App Gallery.
The service provides code-signing identity management and Apple Developer portal integration. Its integrations include GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, BrowserStack, AWS Device Farm, Firebase, Slack, and SonarCloud; self-hosted repositories can connect with HTTPS or SSH. Builds run in virtual machines that are destroyed after completion. The maker says build data is cleaned when a build finishes, except for artifacts available in logs or for download. The free plan costs nothing and includes 500 monthly build minutes for one team member, one parallel build, and a 120-minute build duration limit. Fixed-price plans are $3,990 a year, and Enterprise starts at $12,000 a year.
PipeCD
PipeCD is a self-hosted continuous delivery platform that coordinates deployments through Git pull requests. Its shared deployment interface supports Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP Cloud Run, AWS Lambda, AWS ECS and other targets, while plugins let teams add custom applications or platforms. PipeCD says deployment setup needs a pipeline definition and application manifests, without changes to CRDs or application manifests. Built-in analysis assesses deployment impact with metrics, logs and emitted requests; the platform can roll back after analysis or pipeline-stage failures, detect configuration drift and launch deployments from defined events. Its UI presents deployment pipelines, per-deployment logs, live application state and delivery-performance insights. A centralized Control Plane works with piped agents that run deployments using plugin binaries. Security features include single sign-on and role-based access control, and credentials stay outside the Control Plane. PipeCD is open source under Apache 2.0 and costs nothing. For private Git repositories, piped needs a private SSH key and its corresponding public key added to the repository.
