Hopscotch is a programming environment for making games, animations, art, and stories without prior coding knowledge. Users can follow video tutorials or begin from scratch, then publish projects to a community where others can play and remix them. It runs on Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. The Free Account includes basic characters and essential coding blocks. Play Pass costs $1.99 a month and includes 30 seeds per month, uninterrupted play, and prioritized support. Unlimited costs $9.99 a month and adds drawing tools, custom art uploads, and unlimited drafts and published projects. Hopscotch also offers free educator and classroom accounts, plus lesson plans, though some tutorials require a subscription. Its pages describe the intended audience as ages 10 and up, while the help page describes it as primarily designed for ages 9–15. The parents page advertises a seven-day trial with cancellation at any time.
