In their own words
CollegeData
CollegeData is a free college advisory service for students researching schools, admissions, scholarships, and costs. College Search filters colleges by preferences such as location, size, cost, acceptance rate, majors, student body, sports, and graduation rates. College Chances uses a student's GPA, test scores, coursework, and other factors alongside information about enrolled freshmen to estimate admission chances; it does not guarantee an outcome. Scholarship Finder searches thousands of undergraduate awards from private sources and institutions. Admissions Tracker lets students compare applicant outcomes and shape a reach, target, and safety list. Financial resources include Student Aid Index and net price information, plus a tool for comparing aid offers. Articles cover search strategy, test preparation, essays, financial aid, budgeting, and campus life. A free app for Android and iOS includes college profiles, admissions estimates, scholarship search, and application and testing deadlines. Most profiles and resources are available without an account, but College Chances and Admissions Tracker require one.
Niche
Niche helps students and families explore schools and colleges through profiles, reviews, search, and data tools. College profiles include data and feedback from students and alumni, and users can compare colleges side by side. They can search programs, review admission requirements and financial aid information, and browse or get matched with scholarships. A registered Niche Profile adds a saved college list, personalized recommendations, a college checklist, and an admissions calculator. High school seniors may receive college acceptance and scholarship offers based on profile information. Niche’s Best Colleges ranking uses U.S. Department of Education data alongside student and alumni reviews. Students and families can use the service free on the web, Android, and iOS; the app is available for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices. Schools and colleges can pay for enhanced site presence, sponsored listings, digital marketing, data packages, Niche Engage, and Niche Direct Admissions. Niche says partner solutions include CRM integrations that deliver student data regularly. The company was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
