In their own words

Colorfront Transkoder

Colorfront Transkoder is a mastering, processing, and delivery system for cinema, broadcast, and streaming formats. It performs faster-than-real-time transcoding with multi-GPU processing, 32-bit floating-point image processing, and parallel output for multiple deliverables. The system supports DCP and IMF authoring, packaging, validation, and QC, including encrypted DCPs with KDM generation. HDR functions include Dolby Vision and HDR10+ mastering and metadata handling, plus SDR-to-HDR and HDR-to-SDR conversion through the Colorfront Engine. AI-assisted QC checks color compliance, framing, and format validation, with PSNR, DeltaICtCp, SSIM, and VMAF assessment options. Output reaches 8K and includes HEVC/H.265, H.264, Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHR/DNxHD, MPEG-2, DCP, IMF, MXF, DPX, TIFF, OpenEXR, JPEG 2000, JPEG, and WAV. Transkoder runs on premises or in the cloud, including AWS and Google Cloud, with API, CLI, and MCP interfaces. It also streams mastering timelines for remote review. Pricing is on request.

Hance

Hance is a single-binary command-line tool that applies film effects to video and image files in one pass. Its effects include color grading, halation, chromatic aberration, bloom, film grain, vignette, split toning, and camera shake. More than 40 built-in looks include Portra 400, Cinestill 800T, and Kodachrome 64. A browser editor previews effects in real time with WebGPU and saves custom looks as.hlook files. The maker says processing runs locally on the user’s GPU, keeping footage on the user’s disk. Hance runs on macOS and Linux; macOS is the primary beta target, while Linux is lightly tested. The CLI requires FFmpeg on the user’s PATH. The free plan costs nothing and includes H.264 and H.265 export, with one file processed at a time. ProRes export and batch processing require Pro, which is not yet available for purchase and has no announced price. Hance is beta software and is described as having been tested mainly on macOS by a single developer.
