In their own words
Comapping
Comapping is mind mapping software for taking notes, planning, organizing information and sharing it. Its visual maps show connections between information blocks, and topics can be dragged to reorganize them. Notes can hold attachments in any file format. Maps support real-time collaboration for up to 20 active collaborators, with built-in chat; the software also includes task management with on-demand status emails and online presentations. Web, Windows, macOS and Linux are listed platforms. The desktop application supports offline work on Windows and Mac. The API reference describes importing Comapping, MindManager, FreeMind and OPML files, and exporting maps to HTML, RTF, MPX, CSV and OPML. The FAQ says map changes are saved to the server, backups are made hourly and kept for two months, and user information is not shared with third parties. Comapping became free to use on November 1, 2025, though its pricing page says the service might be retired after one year. The site also states that Comapping is built on Adobe Flash Player, which reached end of life on December 31, 2020.
MindMapVault
MindMapVault is an encrypted vault for creating, editing, and storing mind maps, notes, attachments, and map relationships. For cloud use, map content is encrypted on the device with AES-256-GCM before upload, and the server stores ciphertext; its hybrid key encapsulation combines X25519 and ML-KEM-768. Cloud Free provides 25 MB encrypted storage, three active shares, five published maps, and a 5 MB maximum file size. Cloud Pro costs $50 a year and provides 1 GB, 100 active shares, effectively unlimited published maps, and a 50 MB maximum file size. A free desktop-local app and self-hosted Docker deployment are also listed. The desktop app works offline without an account or server and keeps data on the device. The web app can be installed as a PWA on iPhone and Android, with offline use supported. Imports include FreeMind, Freeplane, WiseMapping, XMind, and Markdown; exports include JSON, Markdown, FreeMind, PNG, and PDF. There is no real-time collaboration, and credentials cannot be recovered for existing encrypted vault contents if lost.
