In their own words

Comet

Comet is Perplexity’s AI browser, with an assistant built into browsing. The assistant can answer questions about open tabs, search the web and interact with websites on the user’s behalf. Examples include summarizing or explaining content, comparing tabs, drafting emails, scheduling meetings and making purchases. Perplexity is the default search engine, and Comet uses Chromium. It is free to download at free for Android, iOS, macOS and Windows. Comet supports most Chrome extensions, though users must install and configure them again because extension data does not transfer from Chrome. The browser stores URLs, searches, cookies, open tabs and site permissions locally. Website credentials are kept in the device’s secure vault, not on Perplexity’s servers. Privacy settings allow deletion of browsing and search history, cookies and cached data. However, some queries may involve sending page context, including text or email, to Perplexity’s servers. Email or schedule tasks may require opting in to Perplexity Connector access; those permissions can later be changed or revoked. Comet says users can stop the agent and should review actions before confirming them.

UseAgent

UseAgent provides AI coworkers that research, prepare reports, and handle follow-ups using company knowledge and connected tools. Teams can add documents and instructions, review proposed knowledge before sharing it, and optionally use team memory. Agents can run recurring workflows hourly, daily, or weekly and post results to Slack. They can also create editable DOCX, XLSX, and PPTX files for export to Office or PDF. The cloud plan lists Chat, OpenCode, Claude Code, Codex, and Pi as agent engines. Integrations include GitHub, Slack, Linear, Gmail, Notion, HubSpot, Google Drive, MCP servers, and PostgreSQL. GitHub access currently supports reading pull requests, issues, and commits; write operations are marked as coming soon. Agents work in isolated Linux environments, and teams can inspect saved requests, tool calls, approvals, and results. Users can require approval before sensitive actions. Cloud and self-host plans are free, but users supply their own AI provider keys and providers bill for model usage and computer time. Bots and routines are planned for self-host v0.0.4, while the public repository is at v0.0.3.
