In their own words
Comodo Secure DNS
Comodo Secure DNS routes DNS requests through redundant security servers and filters web access to block phishing, malware domains, malicious sites, botnets, spyware, and other web-borne attacks. Its cloud infrastructure uses load balancing and geographically distributed Anycast servers hosted in more than 25 countries. Domain filtering spans more than 80 content categories, with millions of new domains added every two hours; administrators can also set custom blacklists and whitelists. Policies and visibility can be assigned by company, location, endpoint, mobile device, IP, subnet, or user. Protection extends to roaming users off-network, and iOS and Android apps cover cellular and Wi-Fi connections. Administrators get customizable real-time and scheduled email reports, plus customizable block pages. The free Gold package allows up to 300,000 DNS requests per month, but excludes several internal-network and encryption features. Separate Platinum packages are offered for enterprises and MSPs, with prices not listed. The listed platforms are Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows.
DNS for Family
DNS for Family is a free DNS service for blocking adult websites and other harmful domains across computers, phones, browsers, and Wi-Fi routers. Its filtering covers advertisements, malware, ransomware, scams, phishing, gambling, drugs, proxy sites, and some dating sites. Safe Search is enforced for Google, YouTube, Brave, Ecosia, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and Yandex, while social services such as Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and WhatsApp are not blocked. The maker says its blacklist is updated daily. Supported protocols include DNSSEC, DNS-over-TLS, DNS-over-HTTPS, DNSCrypt v2, and IPv6. Developers can query a JSON API to check up to 100 hostnames at once. The listed plan costs nothing, with no hidden fees; unusually high query volumes are subject to fair-use limits. The privacy policy says DNS requests contain the queried domain, visit time, and user IP, retained for rate limiting. Queries are forwarded to Google through DNSDist without sending user IP addresses or personal data to Google.
