In their own words
Compare Suite
Compare Suite is a Windows file comparison tool for office professionals, developers, and webmasters. It compares Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, web pages, and plain text, and can produce reports with comments attached to differences. Spreadsheet comparisons show absolute or percentage changes in numbers and date differences in days. PDF comparison extracts text, so scanned PDFs need OCR before their text can be compared. The software can compare and synchronize local or remote folders, compare files over FTP, and inspect ZIP or RAR archives without unpacking them. Command-line automation and integrations with third-party document management systems and tools are also listed. The maker says processing happens locally and opened files remain on the PC. The free Light plan covers basic file comparison; paid one-time licenses are $70, paid once for Standard and $140, paid once for Professional. A fully functional 30-day evaluation is available. Windows 10 or Windows 7 is listed as a minimum requirement; Word and Excel comparisons require Microsoft Word and Excel, and Office 365 is not supported.
i-net PDFC
i-net PDFC compares documents and detects changes in text, tables, layout, and structure. It supports PDF, DOCX, TXT, PNG, JPEG, BMP, and GIF comparisons; the product page also lists ODT. Structured comparison examines elements such as styles and shapes and recognizes tagged PDF and PDF/UA structure. Additional capabilities include table comparison by key columns, OCR, language detection, and exports of results and reports. The desktop application keeps files local for single-user work, while the server application supports multiple accounts, groups, and browser dashboards. Task Planner can schedule batch comparisons and other tasks. Developers have a RESTful interface, Java and.NET SDKs, and JUnit and NUnit libraries for verification workflows. Comparison files and data remain on the local computer or user's server rather than going to third parties, though optional server features may send configured data to external services. Platforms include Windows, Linux/UNIX, macOS 13+, Docker, and a browser interface for server use. A 30-day trial is available, but there is no free plan. Standard yearly costs $199 a year; prices exclude VAT.
