In their own words
Comunica
Comunica is an open-source framework for querying knowledge graphs with SPARQL and GraphQL over decentralized RDF on the Web. It can treat multiple sources as one virtual dataset and identify a source type from its URL. Built-in source types include RDF files, SPARQL endpoints, Triple Pattern Fragments, JavaScript RDF sources, serialized datasets, and HDT files. The framework parses Turtle, JSON-LD, RDF/XML, N-Triples, TriG, and N-Quads, and can serialize results as SPARQL JSON, XML, CSV, TSV, or RDF formats. It supports several SPARQL 1.2 specifications, while SPARQL 1.2 entailment regimes and the Graph Store HTTP Protocol are listed as unsupported. The browser client provides SPARQL and GraphQL-LD queries, Solid authentication, selectable sources, and geospatial results. Developers can combine modules into custom engines or add components, and use Comunica in browsers, JavaScript applications, or from the command line. The default SPARQL engine does not query local files; a separate file engine is intended for that purpose. The project is MIT-licensed for open and commercial use.
Query
Query is a cloud security data mesh that searches distributed security sources without copying their data into a central store. Federated search queries connected systems in parallel and normalizes results to OCSF, while Federated Search Query Language translates general queries into each source’s native language at query time. Query Workers are AI agents that triage, investigate, hunt, and detect across connected sources; analysts review recommendations or inconclusive findings. Federated Detections run SPL, KQL, or Sigma rules where the data resides. Query says it supports more than 50 sources, including Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, CrowdStrike Falcon, Okta, Snowflake, and Google BigQuery. Static connectors map fixed schemas; dynamic connectors let customers configure custom mappings. Access is read-only, with no ingestion required and data staying at its source. The SaaS product runs on AWS data centers in us-east-1. Single sign-on supports Google, Microsoft, and Okta providers. Query states SOC 2 certification, uses NIST CSF 800-53 as a control baseline, and offers weekday standard support plus paid Platinum support.
