Overview

ConfigCraft embeds guided configuration in WooCommerce and carries configuration data from product pages through cart and checkout into order items. That makes it a sensible fit when configured orders need to remain tied to the store’s existing sales flow. Product rules and guided selling support structured choices, but compatibility is not guaranteed across every third-party theme, plugin, host, or customized WordPress setup.

The free core includes guided steps, option fields, simple live pricing, artwork uploads, saved and shared configurations, and WooCommerce cart-to-order data. It gives stores a workable route from customer selections to an order, but does not provide the advanced pricing, quote review, or production tools sold separately.

Key features

Configuration and pricing

Simple option pricing in the free core suits products whose prices can be assembled from straightforward choices. Pro adds matrix pricing, CSV price-list imports, cross-field filters, a pricing simulator, and premium starter kits. Those tools are a better fit for stores managing prices across combinations or frequently changing price lists; for simpler catalogs, the annual Pro license may be unnecessary overhead.

Quotes and production

The Quote Add-on supports structured quote requests, configuration summaries, admin review, customer follow-up, PDFs, and conversion of a quote into an order. It targets custom-sales workflows that need a review step before purchase, rather than stores that can send every configured product straight through checkout.

The Production Add-on provides production statuses, internal notes, worksheets, files, and operational context for configured orders. It is aimed at teams coordinating work after checkout, not merely collecting product options. These distinct workflows let a store add only the functions it needs, but they also mean the complete suite is not included in the free core.

Pricing

ConfigCraft has two free entries: Free at 0.00 USD per free, with guided configuration, simple option pricing, file uploads, saved and shared configurations, and WooCommerce cart and checkout; and ConfigCraft Free at 0.00 EUR per free, described as a complete GPL open-source configurator core that does not expire. These cover the basic configurator, not the paid advanced pricing and workflow add-ons.

Pro is sold by site: ConfigCraft Pro — Single Site costs 99.00 EUR per year and covers 1 site; Studio is 199.00 EUR per year for 3 sites; Agency is 399.00 EUR per year for 10 sites. The stated renewal prices are €99/year, €199/year, and €399/year respectively, with the launch price excluded. Pro is the relevant upgrade for stores needing its advanced pricing features, while the tier should match the number of sites.

Quote Add-on — Single Site costs 2939.00 EUR per year for 1 production site; Studio costs 5979.00 EUR per year for 3; Agency costs 119159.00 EUR per year for 10. Each requires Free and matching Pro. ConfigCraft Suite — Single Site costs 129149.00 EUR per year for 1 production site and includes Pro + Quote + Production. ConfigCraft Suite is also offered for 1, 3, or 10 production websites at custom pricing. These are substantial recurring commitments, so the quote and production tiers make sense for businesses whose sales and operations depend on those workflows, not just for occasional custom orders.

Paid annual licenses include English standard support through official My Account channels and email, with no guaranteed response time. After a license is not renewed, installed software keeps working, but updates, premium resources, and add-on modules require renewal. Product updates may include security and compatibility improvements, bug fixes, and feature enhancements.

Platforms

ConfigCraft is for self-hosted WordPress and WooCommerce, with the configurator embedded in the store. It carries configuration data through product pages, cart, checkout, and order items. The maker does not guarantee compatibility with every theme, plugin, hosting environment, or customized installation, so stores with heavily modified setups should account for integration risk.

Who it's for

Free is suited to stores selling configurable products with basic option pricing. Pro is for stores with large or frequently updated price lists. Quote fits custom-sales teams that need review and follow-up before an order, while Production is for teams managing configured orders after purchase. Stores outside the WordPress and WooCommerce ecosystem should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free core connects guided choices, simple pricing, uploads, and saved configurations to WooCommerce cart and order data, making it useful for a basic configurable-product workflow.
Pro: Pro, Quote, and Production address different needs, from complex pricing to quote approval and post-order coordination.
Con: Quote and full-suite licenses carry high annual prices, and the Quote tiers require both Free and matching Pro.
Con: Compatibility with third-party themes, plugins, hosting, and custom WordPress installations is not guaranteed.
Con: Non-renewal leaves the installed software working but removes access to updates, premium resources, and add-on modules.

Verdict

Choose ConfigCraft if your store runs on compatible WordPress and WooCommerce and you want configured choices to remain connected to cart and order records, with a free core to start. Its strongest case is the path from guided configuration into pricing, quoting, and production; its main drawback is the cost of advanced workflows and the site-specific renewal burden. Stores with simple options can stay on the free core, while teams needing quotes or production coordination should compare the recurring license cost with the value of keeping those tasks in the same order workflow.
