In their own words
Confluent Cloud
Confluent Cloud is a managed data streaming platform built on a serverless Apache Kafka engine. It is designed for real-time streaming, event-driven applications, analytics, and AI/ML workloads. Cluster choices include Basic, Standard, Enterprise, and Freight, as well as Dedicated clusters with pre-provisioned resources. Confluent says its cloud-native engine adjusts cluster infrastructure to workload needs. Cluster Linking replicates, synchronizes, and shares data across regions, public clouds, and organizations. The service includes managed Kafka connectors for databases, data lakes, and warehouses, serverless processing with Apache Flink, and a managed Stream Governance suite. Tableflow can materialize Kafka topics and schemas as Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake tables. Listed security features include RBAC, self-managed encryption keys, client-side field-level encryption, and audit logs. Users can manage clusters and topics through a web UI or CLI; supported client languages include Java, Python, .NET, Go, Node.js, and C/C++. It is available on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud across more than 100 regions. A free plan is available; paid plans start at $385/mo, and new signups receive a 30-day trial.
Sourcemeta One
Sourcemeta One is a self-hosted JSON Schema micro-service that turns Git repositories into searchable catalogs with governance features. Teams can organize schemas by team, department, domain, or vendor, and see lint-based quality scores. Schemas and registry configuration remain in Git, so changes can follow existing review workflows; the service has no database, write path, or stateful persistence. Its web explorer is optional, and headless deployments can use the HTTP API. It supports JSON Schema Draft 3, Draft 4, Draft 6, Draft 7, 2019-09, and 2020-12, alongside format validation, custom meta-schemas, annotation collection, and bundling. Community is a free self-hosted edition with a subset of functionality under Business Source License 1.1; releases transition to AGPL-3.0-or-later after four years. Enterprise requires a commercial license for production, with annual or perpetual terms and pricing on request. Docker images are provided for x64 and arm64, and Docker is the only officially supported running method. Commercial licenses include expert support and training; managed hosting is available upon request.
