| API | The REST task API can create, poll, cancel and share tasks, upload files, download outputs and read evaluations. | A public HTTP API is available at api.e2b.app and authenticates with an API key. |
| Deployment | Enterprise sandboxes run on the customer's Kubernetes cluster and can be installed through KOTS on EKS or AKS, including an air-gapped bundle. | BYOC places sandboxes inside the customer's AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure account and is available on Enterprise plans. |
| Encryption | Context states that customer personal data uses TLS in transit and industry-standard encryption at rest. | Managed sandboxes use Google Cloud default encryption at rest and TLS in transit. |
| Integrations | Context lists a catalog of 180+ integrations across data, documents, communication, CRM, ITSM, finance, and identity, plus remote MCP servers. | Listed integrations include OpenAI Agents SDK, Claude Code, Codex, CrewAI, Agno, Mastra, Google ADK, LangChain, Vercel AI SDK and MCP servers. |
| Isolation | Sandboxes run as non-root container pods with capabilities dropped, a seccomp profile, and no cluster service-account token. | Each sandbox runs in its own Firecracker microVM and kernel, without sharing a filesystem or memory with another customer's sandboxes. |
| Rating on G2 | 5.0 out of 5 from 1 review. | 0.0 out of 5 from 0 reviews. |
| Sandbox isolation | Managed sandboxes run as non-root Kubernetes pods with dropped capabilities, a seccomp profile and no cluster service-account token. | Each sandbox runs in a Firecracker microVM with its own kernel and no shared filesystem or memory between customers. |
| Self-hosting | Self-hosted installations run on customer Kubernetes clusters such as Amazon EKS or Azure AKS and are installed through KOTS. | E2B Embed and the runtime can be deployed on AWS, Google Cloud, Azure or a general Linux machine using Terraform, Docker Compose or Kubernetes. |
| Support | Basic support through Context's standard channels during business hours is included in every agreement, with Enterprise support set per order. | E2B directs security and compliance requests to [email protected]. |
| What it does | Agent Sandboxes gives each agent task an isolated execution environment while keeping traces, evaluations and policy decisions in the Context workspace. | E2B provides isolated Linux machines for AI agents to execute code, process data, browse and use tools. |

In their own words
Context Agent Sandboxes
Context Agent Sandboxes gives each agent task a separate sandbox on the customer's cluster, using the permissions of the person who requested it. Each run begins in a fresh environment, which is destroyed after an idle period set to 30 minutes by default. Sandboxes run as non-root container pods with capabilities dropped, a seccomp profile, and no cluster service-account token. Administrators can choose open, domain-allowlist, or workspace-only network access, with allowlist decisions logged. In the supervised preset, commands require human approval and connections outside the allowlist prompt for a decision. Drive is not mounted: files pass through a permission-checking gateway, and outputs are pushed explicitly. Credentials are injected at the edge only after authorization. An append-only audit log records commands, files, connections, and permission decisions, including the actor and decision maker. Context lists more than 180 integrations across business categories, plus remote MCP servers. Enterprise sandboxes run on the customer's Kubernetes cluster, with KOTS installation options for EKS or AKS and an air-gapped bundle. Plans include Free at free, Plus at $20 a month, Pro at $200 a month, and custom-priced Enterprise.
E2B
E2B provides isolated Linux machines for AI agent sessions, with infrastructure managed by E2B or deployed in a customer’s cloud. Each session runs in its own Firecracker microVM and kernel, without sharing filesystem or memory with another customer’s sandboxes. An API covers execution, networking, storage, secrets, observability, and lifecycle management. The Code Interpreter SDK runs Python or JavaScript and can return charts, tables, and images; Desktop supplies screen, mouse, keyboard, and live streaming for computer-use agents. Listed integrations include CrewAI, Agno, Mastra, OpenAI Agents SDK, Google ADK, LangChain Deep Agents, and Vercel AI SDK. E2B Cloud is available in US, EU, and APAC regions. Enterprise BYOC can place sandboxes in a customer’s AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure account. The runtime is Apache-2.0 licensed and self-hostable. Hobby is free, with a one-time $100 usage credit, sessions up to one hour, and 20 concurrent sandboxes. Pro costs $150 a month plus usage costs.
