In their own words

copydetect

copydetect is a free tool for comparing code directories and producing an HTML report that highlights matching code slices. It uses Winnowing document fingerprinting, an approach also used by MOSS, and Pygments tokenization for the 500-plus languages Pygments can detect and tokenize. Users can compare test directories with reference directories such as previous submissions, and exclude boilerplate directories from matches. Noise, guarantee and display thresholds adjust what is detected and shown in reports. Install the package with pip; it requires Python 3.7 or later. The command-line tool recursively searches supplied directories, while its Python API supports comparisons and HTML report generation. Reports can be saved to a specified path, highlighted code can be truncated, and custom CSS can be linked. Configuration is available through command-line arguments or a JSON file. The package is MIT-licensed and classified for Education with Beta development status. Its documentation cautions that it may not catch plagiarism designed to evade detection and that a match does not establish that plagiarism occurred.

CopyPaste

CopyPaste is a free, local-first clipboard manager for Windows and macOS. It saves clipboard history for text, images, files, folders, links, audio and video, with previews tailored to the content. Full-text search, pins, custom labels and colors, and filters by content, category and item type help organize saved items; it also supports snippets and rich text. The project says history stays on the device, without cloud storage, servers, syncing, telemetry, analytics or accounts. CopyPaste works offline and excludes passwords and clipboard content from password managers such as 1Password and Bitwarden. The standalone version checks for updates without sending user data. Windows requirements are Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11 on x64. On macOS, it requires Ventura 13.0 or later and has a universal binary for Apple Silicon and Intel. Linux support ended after v2.11.0, and those builds receive no fixes, security updates or new features. CopyPaste is open source under GPL-3.0; redistributing it within another product requires separate terms.
