In their own words
Coroot
Coroot is an open-source observability platform that uses eBPF to collect metrics, logs, traces, and profiling data without code changes. It maps services and dependencies, and pairs eBPF auto-instrumentation with OpenTelemetry SDK traces for end-to-end request tracking. Continuous profiling can locate CPU spikes down to the line of code. Coroot tracks cloud costs without access to cloud accounts and detects risks such as single-instance applications, unreplicated databases, poor replica placement, and publicly exposed services. Its AI root cause analysis correlates metrics, logs, traces, events, and profiles to identify likely incident causes, with evidence and suggested fixes. Notifications can be sent through Slack, Microsoft Teams, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, and webhooks. Coroot supports Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Docker Swarm, several listed Linux distributions, and Windows agents. Linux use requires kernel version 5.1 or later. The platform is self-hosted, keeping data within the customer's infrastructure. Community Edition is Apache 2.0 licensed and can run on premises or in a customer's cloud. The free Community Edition includes core features. Standard support is by email, chat, or ticket during business hours, while Premium includes 24×7 and phone support.
New Relic Kubernetes Monitoring
New Relic Kubernetes Monitoring provides visibility into cluster health and workloads across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. Its cluster explorer brings together metrics, events, logs, and traces for control plane components, nodes, namespaces, deployments, replica sets, pods, and containers. The integration can forward Kubernetes logs and events for exploration, querying, and alerting, and uses service discovery to scrape Prometheus metrics. Teams can link application performance data with Kubernetes data to examine request rates, throughput, errors, and availability. Predefined and custom alert conditions are available, and reported data can trigger pod autoscaling. It can also monitor supported services including Apache, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, MongoDB, MySQL, NGINX, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, and Redis. Installation requires a New Relic license key and uses Helm or manifests. The perpetual free tier includes 100 GB of data ingest per month and one full platform user. The default configuration uses a privileged Infrastructure Agent sidecar for deep host metrics; unprivileged mode is available with reduced host visibility. The listed Pro plan costs $349 a year.
