| Integrations | Google Sign-In is used for authentication; the privacy policy says Google does not receive prompts, uploads, or generated covers. | The service uses Google for OAuth sign-in, Stripe for payments, fal.ai for hosted AI models, Railway for hosting and Postgres, and Umami for analytics. |
| Ownership | Users retain ownership of their inputs and generated covers, while CoverHook receives a limited licence needed to operate the service. | Users keep rights to uploaded images and created thumbnails, including commercial use, and ThumbPocket claims no ownership. |

In their own words
CoverHook
CoverHook generates cover images with AI, arranging artwork and typography for the format you select. Its listed formats include YouTube thumbnails and banners, album and book covers, TikTok and Reels covers, and text covers. For a YouTube thumbnail, enter a title, optionally add a reference image, choose a look, and generate three strategy variants. Each thumbnail receives a 0–100 fit score and rule-by-rule checks for qualities such as subject recognition, contrast, and caption legibility. YouTube exports are 16:9 at 2048×1152 in 2K or 1280×720 in 1K. Text covers instead render on a local browser canvas, use no AI call or credits, and can be exported repeatedly. The free plan is free and includes 25 signup credits, all six cover types, unlimited text-cover exports, and cloud-saved generations. Pro is $99 a year; Studio is $199 a year. The API shares the account credit balance, processes jobs asynchronously, and permits up to three generations in flight per account.
ThumbPocket
ThumbPocket is a browser-based studio for making thumbnails from a photo or video frame, aimed at creators publishing to YouTube, Shorts, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram or Vimeo. It cuts out the subject, generates backgrounds, applies styles and exports PNG images. The editor includes bold text, automatic outlines, draggable placement and side-by-side A/B variants. Subjects can be rendered in real, realistic, cartoon, 8-bit, LEGO or sketch styles. All accounts export 1280×720 images; Creator adds 1920-wide exports, while Studio and Ultimate add 4K 3840×2160 exports without a watermark. The full cutout, background, text and export workflow also works in a mobile browser without installing an app. Only AI actions consume credits; editing, text tools, layers, saved projects and exporting are not metered. Users retain rights to their uploaded images and created thumbnails, including commercial use. ThumbPocket says it does not train models on users' images or share them. The editor is free; Creator costs €19.99 a month.
