Overview

Presenters share a link by text or email, and viewers can see a full screen, application window, or browser tab without downloading software. The service extends that workflow with browser video calls, recordings, personalized sales videos, and website lead capture. CrankWheel was founded in 2015 and is headquartered in Iceland.

Key features

Sharing, calls, and control

Viewer-attention monitoring gives a presenter a signal during a sales presentation, while temporary mouse and keyboard control lets one viewer interact with the shared screen. Viewers need no download for control, but the presenter must use Windows or macOS. That makes the feature useful for guided demonstrations, not a fit for presenters working on other platforms.

Browser video calls use computer microphones, speakers, and webcams, and participants do not need to install software. CrankWheel also supports meeting and screencast recording, with cloud storage and local downloads. Mobile screen sharing is not supported, so teams presenting from a phone or tablet should choose another tool.

Sales videos and lead capture

Users can email personalized recordings or screencasts with animated previews, divide them into segments, and track playback. Instant Demos adds a customizable website widget that can connect a prospect to an available agent and route leads to a CRM. Native integrations include Zoho CRM, Salesforce, HubSpot CRM, HighLevel, Less Annoying CRM, and Insites; the REST API and Zapier integration are available on all plans. This breadth suits sales workflows, though the plans’ meeting and viewer caps matter for teams running frequent live sessions.

Security and support

CrankWheel states that it is SOC 2 compliant and ISO 27001 certified, and that its services comply with GDPR, CCPA, and the UK Data Protection Act 2018. It can sign HIPAA business associate agreements. Email and live chat support are offered on all plans, with live online training and phone support on Team 300 and larger plans.

Pricing

The free plan is free and is limited to one user, 15 meetings per month, three viewers per meeting, and one-week recording retention. It has no branding. That is enough to try occasional small presentations, but not sustained prospecting with larger audiences.

Solo costs 29.00 USD per month for one user, unlimited usage, up to 30 viewers, and up to 10 video-conference participants. It removes the free plan’s meeting quota and is the practical choice for an individual seller who needs regular sessions. The one-seat limit makes it unsuitable for a team account.

Team costs 99.00 USD per month and includes unlimited users, starting at 100 shared meetings per month, up to 100 viewers, and up to 25 participants. It is aimed at groups needing shared access and larger presentations, but the stated meeting allowance is a meaningful constraint compared with Solo’s unlimited usage. Enterprise has custom pricing, unlimited users, custom usage limits, capacity for up to 1000s of viewers, and up to 50 participants; it fits organizations whose scale exceeds the fixed plan limits.

Platforms

CrankWheel supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web, and Windows, as well as an API and browser extension. The pure web app works in Firefox, Safari, and Chromium-based browsers; the extension edition supports Chrome, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi, Brave, and Chromium. Platform breadth does not include mobile screen sharing, and remote control requires a Windows or macOS presenter.

Who it's for

CrankWheel is best suited to salespeople and agents who add a visual walkthrough to phone calls, especially those who want recordings, follow-up sales videos, and lead routing alongside live sharing. Support and remote-work teams may also find the link-based calls useful, but those needing mobile screen sharing or very large audiences on lower tiers should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Viewers can join screen shares and browser calls without downloading software, reducing friction for prospects.
Pros: Attention monitoring, recording, sales-video playback tracking, and lead capture cover several steps in a sales conversation.
Pros: REST API and Zapier are available on all plans, including Free.
Cons: Free allows only 15 meetings a month and three viewers per meeting, limiting it to small-scale use.
Cons: Mobile screen sharing is not supported, and temporary control requires a Windows or macOS presenter.
Cons: Solo is one user only; teams need the 99.00 USD per month Team plan or custom-priced Enterprise.

Verdict

Choose CrankWheel if you sell or support over calls and want prospects to join screen shares without installing software, with recordings and sales follow-up tools in the same service. Look elsewhere if you need mobile screen sharing, a multi-user entry plan, or a free tier for larger or frequent meetings.
