In their own words

CrowdGrader

CrowdGrader is a web service for students to submit homework and peer-grade classmates’ work while instructors oversee assignments and keep control of final grades. It combines peer assessments into a consensus grade for each submission and removes outliers. A student’s crowd-grade reflects both the grade received and how accurately that student grades other submissions. Students can create reports, math, or code in the built-in editor, or upload files such as ZIP archives. Reviews are anonymous: reviewers do not see authors’ identities, and uploaded files are renamed. Instructors can monitor similarities through clusters and side-by-side submission comparisons. Institutional subscriptions include optional LMS integration, access monitoring, and long-term data retention for auditing. Student work is transmitted over HTTPS; Google authentication uses only the user’s email address for identification. The free instructor-sponsored plan covers up to 20 students per assignment. Other listed options include $2.99 per assignment for up to 35 students, $6.99 for up to 100, and $13.98 for unlimited students.

Marka

Marka is peer evaluation software for teachers collecting rubric-based feedback on classroom group work and producing consolidated reports. Teachers can create reusable analytic or holistic rubrics with their own scoring scales and criterion indicators. Students see aggregate results and unattributed public notes, not individual peer scores. Results and notes stay hidden until at least three evaluators submit, unless a teacher overrides the threshold for a student. A teacher-only Peer Integrity Engine flags patterns such as free-riding, mismatched self-ratings, rushed scoring, cliques, and rater bias; it does not change scores automatically. Reports can include dashboards, CSV exports, cross-period comparisons, printable reports, and gradebook-ready exports. Teachers import rosters from CSV, and students enter with teacher-issued seven-character codes without creating accounts or providing email addresses. Marka works without an LMS connection and is available on the web and through a lightweight Android app. Its free Basic plan supports up to 3 classes and 50 students per class, with full report preview only.
