In their own words
Crowdmark
Crowdmark is a web application for evaluating, discussing and responding to exams, essays, lab reports and other student work. Instructors can use paper assessments they already have, create assignments or set up exams with multiple-choice questions. They can scan and upload student work, while students can submit assignments using mobile phones. Grading tools support scores, graphical annotations, hypertext comments, mathematical notation and reusable comments. Crowdmark reports student performance by question and provides an API for extracting insights. Its FAQ lists roster and grade synchronization with Canvas, Brightspace/D2L, Moodle, Blackboard and Sakai. The Canvas connection can import courses, rosters, team members and sections, and export grades. The service serves higher education and K–12, with licensing options for instructors, departments, enterprises, schools and school districts. Prices are quoted by Crowdmark, and both course-based and annual subscriptions are listed. Crowdmark says personal information may be processed and stored outside Canada, including in the United States.
Quick Rubric
Quick Rubric is a web service for creating, sharing, and publishing rubrics for education, business, communication, and other purposes. It covers assessment of projects, presentations, written assignments, performance, behavior, and self- or peer-assessment. Users can make analytic or holistic rubrics, with performance ratings expressed numerically, descriptively, or in both forms; the service can also add numerical scores. Rubric text supports bulleted lists, bold, and italics through markup syntax. The listed Free Account costs nothing, and the terms say rubrics are currently created under free accounts. Those rubrics are always public through the service and may also be found through third-party search engines. Reusing them in other projects is limited to non-commercial use. Some features require an account. Users retain ownership of their data, but free-account users grant the company a broad license to use uploaded data for any purpose. The privacy policy says the service collects account details such as name, email address, and zip code, and uses cookies and other tracking technologies. EU users' data is transferred to U.S. data centers for processing.
