In their own words
CSV Engine
CSV Engine is a web tool for cleaning and validating uploaded spreadsheets before export. It maps source columns to reusable templates, sanitizes values, detects duplicates, previews row-level failures, and can export only records that pass configured rules. Uploads use drag and drop, with automatic detection of delimiters, encodings, and headers. Column mapping supports aliases and fuzzy matching, and mappings can be saved per template. Listed cleanup includes whitespace trimming, casing normalization, email checks, phone parsing, and date fixes. Duplicate matching can use multiple fields and merge strategies, with conflicts reviewed before commit. Templates preserve schemas, field types, and validation rules for reuse. One credit processes up to 1,000 rows, including validation, deduplication, and export. The Free plan provides five credits per month and three active templates; the Starter plan is $15 a month billed annually. One-off credit packs are also available, beginning at $8, paid once, with credits that never expire. Pro includes email support with a 24-hour response; its developer API is listed as coming soon.
Rons Data Edit
Rons Data Edit is a Windows desktop editor for CSV and other tabular text files, focused on viewing, cleaning, and restructuring data. It handles separated formats such as CSV and TSV and can import or export JSON, XML, HTML, Markdown, and tokenized data. Editing includes inline cell changes, search and replace, undo and redo, splitting or merging rows and columns, and removing duplicates or blanks. Users can sort and filter records, save views, inspect summary metrics, and create line, bar, or pie charts. Data can come from files or the clipboard; rows can be appended, records joined by key columns, and results exported to files, the clipboard, or Excel. Custom Cleaners combine Toolbox commands into reusable macros shared with Rons Data Stream. The maker says data stays local and the app works offline. Lite is free but saves up to 2500 rows and shows advertising banners. Pro costs $40, paid once, removes those limits, and includes lifetime updates for one user on five computers.
